The teacher is boring and the "tests" are to write essays. I'm doing well in class and all I do is goof off with friends and write notes. I want to keep all "A's".

Depends on what grade you're in. If you are getting towards the end of highschool then you might try to learn a bit. If you're finding the work too easy/boring then ask your teacher if there is anything interesting you can read or write about.

I found the bar pretty low in English class because very many people were poor writers. If you can spend time on your writing this will help in University.

Yes it will catch up with you. They are teaching you the basic skills you need right now. They are simple and easy to do but if you do not fully understand the concepts behind them you will soon become lost.

By goofing off you are also disrupting the other people there that may not be such an easy learner and that is very disrespectful. If you keep not paying attention, those people that are goofing of will not make it any easier for you to learn and catch up the things you lost.

Alot of classes grade you not only on your marks, but also your actions in class. Are you attentive? Do you participate?

If you want to continue to do well, start being serious about your education. Pay attention in class and give other people that oppurtunity.

so heres the thing. you have to do the math to see how bad you can screw up and still get an A. thats is what i would always do. lets say that you have an A on 75% of you assignments, with 25% of the assignments still to come. do the math, see how low a grade you can get, and then shoot for that. if you are graded on , participation, etc. make sure you factor that into you grade. at some point, you will discover that you can skip a couple of assignments and still get an A, but make sure that the average is still in the A range. good luck!

Yes, it will hurt you. In many school districts attention and participation is worth 10-20% of your grade. If you get a 0 there, thats aleady a C.
