I wont call you an idiot. But judging from just the first part of your writing you didn't read the chapter or you are purposely trying too mislead people....And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men. This is1 Samuel which puts the total number at 1.3 okay 1.3 or 1.1 Is the number the important part of what God is trying to tell us? NO. he was telling us that David killed Goliath by faith in God. yet counted the numbers of his army and counted on his own strength and got defeated...God moving someone is not the same as telling them to do something, god did not want David to count the numbers of his army...that is clear by the fact it angered him....I could go through these one by one but alas i have run out of patience...if you got this information from someone else..then i would suggest you seek god for yourself...If you yourself came up with this perhaps you should spend more time searching for truth rather than looking for contradictions.

Looks like you've stumbled upon a Bible that was translated by someone who didn't know what they were doing. Lemme guess...King James version by any chance? lol

Check the Darby version and you won't find those errors. That just goes to show what happens when amateurs take on a task they aren't qualified for.

ADDED: 25 versions? WOW! I only have 1.
=)

It seems that all the errors you've pointed out are numerical errors, except the 1st one. The details of the story are the same though. As far as error #1 goes, Chronicles was written after the exile, when Hebrews no longer attributed any evil with God, and blames "a satan", not Satan himself.

Israel=800,000 "valient men" Judah=500,000 "men" 1chron 21:5, a different classification. Israel=1,100,000, "all they of Israel that drew the sword', i.e. all adults, not necessarily "valient". Judah=470,000 "men that drew the sword", not all the "men" by 30,000.

That's all for that so-called contradiction.

42 years old= a son of 42 years; i.e. of the House of Omri, on account of His connection with it through His mother (892-790=42). In 2 king 8:26, Ahaziah's actual age ,22, is given when He began to reign (790) during the 2 years of His father's illness.

That's all for that so-called contradiction.

8 years old= 2 kings 24:8, reads 18. The 18 must include His co-regency, the 8 to His reigning alone.

So much for that so-called contradiction

Maybe God has a bad hair day every now & again.
God is very old, maybe he's getting Alzhiemers.
Everybody stuffs up occasionally, maybe even God.
Maybe God just likes to pi-ss us off on purpose for fun.
Maybe there ARE the three Gods in one. You Know, Good God, Bad God & Mediator Spirit.
Or, it could be that the people who wrote down these Dream Time stories got it wrong. After all they're only human.

Parroting the words of other people doesn't make you sound intelligent. You simply cut & pasted these from another website. I could just as easily cut & paste a rebuttal.

These "contradictions" are old and were rebutted long ago. In response to the first one, God tricks Satan into tempting people (haven't you read Job?). So, ironically, both God AND Satan made David count the fighting men, since Satan cannot do anything without God's permission.

If you want to be taken seriously, at least do your own research.

-----------------------------------------------------
2 Samuel 24:13 (NKJV)

So Gad came to David and told him; and he said to him, "Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or shall you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days' plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I should take back to Him who sent me."

1 Chronicles 21:11-12
So Gad went to David and said to him, "This is what the LORD says: 'Take your choice: three years of famine, three months of being swept away before your enemies, with their swords overtaking you, or three days of the sword of the LORD - days of plague in the land, with the angel of the LORD ravaging every part of Israel.' Now then, decide how I should answer the one who sent me."

A: This is a copyist error (see the translation footnotes). Presumably the correct number is three, since the other choices are threes

------------------------------------------------------------------
Some points on the subject of copyist errors in the Bible from the Baker Encyclopedia of Christan Apologetics by Norman Geisler:

Biblical inerrancy refers to the original texts, not the copies.
The errors are minor errors (e.g. numeric errors) which don't affect any doctrine in the Bible.
There are very few errors. (See Are the Biblical Documents Reliable? by Jimmy Williams.)
We are able to determine what the error is, usually by context or by other verses.
The original meaning is preserved and comes through. That is, no copyist error is so bad that the meaning of the text is obscured or lost.
Some of my thoughts:
People have asked, "Why didn't God inspire the copyists as well, and enable us to have inerrant Bibles today?" If God intended to protect the transmission of Scripture from error, this implies he would have to prevent deliberate errors as well as honest mistakes. People would be unable to produce any deviant copies of Scripture - this would soon be noticed and remarked on, and others who heard the rumor would try it out for themselves and find that they were somehow unable to produce a copy of Scripture that deviated in any way from the original. This would be tantamount to providing proof of God and the veracity of Scripture - but providing proof instead of evidence is something that God has decided not to do. (See article on Why doesn't God prove his existence?) It may also be that God simply decided to give humans the responsibility of copying and translating the Bible, just as he gave us the responsibility of telling others about Christ.

> Why is the bible full of stupid errors?
A) It was written by about forty people, some of whom were telling overlapping stories, and there was no real editor for the whole work.
B) There's a lot of uninspired material in there, that the human authors slipped in.

And let us not forget -- Matthew and Luke disagree on Joseph's genealogy. By tradition, Luke is giving Mary's genealogy, but what would you call the decision to give Mary's genealogy without mentioning Mary? I'd call it uninspired.

The Bible was translated by man , and as you know we are imperfect,so we make mistakes. This does not mean that the gospel of Jesus Christ is imperfect. Prophets were men just as you and I ,,they had jobs and families to take care of. I'm sure they were not to paid to write these scriptures. They were good obedient servants of the Lord who did as they were instr
ucted . The translations of their work may be off ever so slightly, but probably close to their original work. We know there are umpteen dozen translations of the Bible,so we must pray and find out which of these translations are most correct

Good you noticed, it's because it has been changed over the years by people themselves, and the orignial version is nowhere to be found so that's why Allah sent prophet Mohammad to guid humans again, with the Quran which until this day the original book is still here, there's no versions of the Quran it's only one, unlike the other books who have more than one version!

If one of the very first books had such irrelevant errors..then it must be inspired.
Two different records on the same subject means that the subject is real,,yes?
Now lets go read what different Historians had to say about Caesar and Alexander the Great...you will be shocked at the differences.

now try to find some contradictions in the Holy Quran. It's sad that a revelation from God like the Holy Bible couldn't have been perserved over the years, and filled with man's interest.
