It is the belief that 'If it harm none, do what thou wilt'. And this shall be the whole of the law.

Some one on here recently said that Dr. Gerald Gardner took most of the Wiccan rituals from existing Satanic rituals. This is untrue. Satanism became popular in the 1980's. The Wiccan revival started in the 1960's.

Wicca in it's purest form is benevolent. It is Love of the Earth and all creatures that inhabit it. And the Pentagram which symbolizes the five elements powerful to Wicca, actually dates back to the earliest cave drawings. Interesting huh?

Nature based religion which reveres all creation, as we are all a part of it. Usually incorporates a God and Goddess in worship, but these are *usually* the representation of Male and Female energies as a whole. Some wiccans use witchcraft, some do not. The religion itself actually started in the 40's in England, but uses ideas from ancient Paganism... mainly from Celtic, but some Egyptian and Greek.

I guess being a Wiccan helps with defining it. *wink* But I'm sure in here you are going to get the load of how Satanic it all is and how we're all worshipping the devil thru false gods... and not a single one will be able to support this idea outside of their own religious propaganda.

I was under the impression that wicca was more or less an extention of the Druid religion; a worship of nature with the power to cast spells. I'm a Christian and don't know too much, but I had a friend in HS that was a witch. I don't pass judgment, just worship God and love everybody!!

Wicca appears to be a patchwork quilt made up of what's left of old pre Christian religions with some added personal creativity sown in to fill in the blanks and add individual identity. and the impression i've gotten from Wiccan folk i've met is that they try to use the quilt to cover the planet with loving protection and healing..

I think a wiccan is someone who follows the wiccan religion. Not a witch or warlock or some nasty denizen of hell. I personally am not a wiccan, but my priest would probably have a fit over the fact that I think lots of stuff in the wiccan creed makes sense. I think that a lot of wiccan stuff is real, but as I can't fully commit myself to believing in it, I am not going to switch my religion. I believe that what you really believe in is what is going to happen to you, so I don't think that I fit in with a religion, even though I am mostly Catholic, but the pope would probably excommunicate me.

First I'd like to thank you for allowing other peoples opinions and not demanding that we all "respect" you.

I have to say that I believe that Wicca is a false religion and witchcraft. "If ye harm none do as ye will" is way too lose of a moral statement, and way to restrictive. How do i know I'm not psychologically harming someone by wearing certain colors?
Also, "It was for their own good so I'm not 'harming them.' make it possible to do almost anything. Plus I disagree on moral absolutes because I believe that there is a "right" and a "wrong"
Moreover I think your religion is dangerous, to you because there is a spirit world, but the kind you are "contacting" or whatever want to harm you not help you.

I know almost nothing of wicca, but these are a couple of sterotypes floating around. Let me state that I don't belive them, but anyway,

Lesbians, they are lesbians who like casting spells naked,

Another one is flakes, who don't understand how the real world works.

I would like to ask you to put some info on wiccans, maybe a web site

I am too! It's the love of the earth, people, animals. We are connected in many ways. I don't know why people are scared of Wicca. It's a religion based from love and respect.
