Extremely bad idea!! If the tattoo artist knows that you are on any medication like that or knows that you have been drinking, they will refuse to tattoo on you. It will thin your blood out and not only make you bleed more during the tattoo, but like others said, it can also make a good quality tattoo look very bad. Your skin won't take the ink properly. My advice-pain is just weakness leaving the body. If you can't handle it, don't get one.

Muscle relaxers = blurry, cracked and imperfect tattoos that generally look horrible.
Meds will also thin your blood and cause you to bleed more, making the process more painful than it should be.
Don't be such a baby. If you're so scared of the pain, you shouldn't be getting a tattoo.

If you're not willing to endure the pain with getting your tattoo, then you dont want it enough. I just got a tattoo of a cross on my upper back with my brother's intials and his d.o.b. and d.o.d. in it. It's a very meaningful tattoo, and it hurt wicked bad cause 90% of the 6-inch tall tattoo was all right on my spine, not to mention its fairly thick and is just solid color throughout. It hurt a lot, but i was willing to endure that pain for the tattoo i was getting. If you're gonna get something but you're not willing to endure the pain to get it, its not worth getting. Remember, this is something you'll have for the rest of your life, make sure its something you want, and then earn it by enduring the pain associated with it.

There is an ointment called 'Ametop', which is used to numb skin in preparation for an injection (I think piercers use this). This can be used on the skin before a tattoo. It will stay numb for a while, taking the edge off, but it wears off after a while. All depends on how long your tatt will take to complete. I've used it for tender areas (near my armpit).

You're not supposed to take ANY kind of meds before you get a tattoo because it thins your blood and it will make your tattoo look like it has blurred edges.

Medication thins out your blood and with distort your tattoo...if you can't deal with the pain of the tattoo then maybe you shouldn't be getting one, it's like a right of passage, no pain no gain, don't be a moron.

it's just skin surface discomfort. I had two done at the same time... don't go in drunk - reputable tattoo artists will refuse to work on you.
