So I have a crush on this guy in one of my classes. The problem is, that he's really shy, and I don't want to make myself stupid. How do I do this? How do I get him to like me?
My friend is good friends with him because she's known him for a long time. She says he likes movies, and I should just act normal. But I can't do that. And whenever I speak up in class, he sort of looks at me. But maybe I'm delusional. Does anyone have any ideas?

My now boyfriend is really shy with people he doesnt know...to get him talking, I basically just went and sat down next to him and started talking! I introduced myself (but i'm guessing he knows who you are!) and I just started talking about anything! My day, what my plans were for the weekend etc and asked him questions too! If he is shy, he may appreciate you talking to him, but dont go over and be all loud etc because he could get a bit uncomfortable!

This seems an aweful lot like me...
I'm a semi-shy guy (no pun intended), so I know what he's thinking. If a guy is shy, he will not think you're stupid unless you give evidence to the contrary and lack care about success. He likes smart girls who have integrity and talent, but focuses on good-looking ones. He probably likes you (those furtive glances tell) but is too insecure to act on it. I am like that sometimes, too. He would probably love to go to a movie with you. If he's shy he probably won't output as much just eating at a restaurant. Find his good friend(s) and talk with them to find out what he likes; tell them that you're interested in him and thay will surely relay the message. Even have the friend you mentioned inform him. Otherwise, you'll have to show the initiative with blatantly obvious clues, or he won't notice anything besides curiosity (which could be worse).

Ask him a question about homework or something and then casually keep talking to him. The more you talk to him the more he will feel comfortable talking to you. Trust me it works really well unless he like won't even say a word. Usually shy people are shy because they know no one in that class or no one has made an effort to talk to him. Try this and hopefully it will work.

u know what? this happens to me all the time but usually i'm the shy one and crushing on the loud type. well i'ma reverse things around and say that if someone liked me and thought i was shy and if they were embarrased to talk to me cuz they thought they would sound stupid. i say just approach me! most people like the attention especially if their shy! so go get em girl!!!!!!!! hope this helped :D

I think that you should go up to him and start up a conversation. You might have alot of things in common. While your talking, you can ask him if he woulds like to "hang out" like going to the movies.

go to the pictures with him! ask your friend to come as well so he won't feel as nervous and let the good times roll!
