Please check the TSA site for the correct answers. Security screeners CANNOT ask you to drink things that you bring, despite what the other member said.

Generally, it's one clear ziploc bag containing liquids in containers of 3oz or less. One bag is allowed per person. Prescription medication are not included in this limit, and personal non-prescription medications (contact lens solution, eye drops, cough syrup, etc) under 3oz are exempt as well. The items must fit comfortably within this bag. Bags that are bulging or 'crammed' may be subject to confiscation or the items enclosed may be confiscated until the bag is not so 'crammed' full of stuff.

Remember that the *container* must be under 3oz. This means you cannot bring a half finished bottle of shampoo that's in a 6oz container, even though it only contains 3oz of product.

Food, drinks, and other items may be purchased after you've been through security, however if you have to leave security at any point (like to go through customs), you will not be permitted back in with these items.

Good luck to you. : )

I have added a link for the TSA (the security organization that looks after US airport security) and its guidelines on liquids which can be taken on aircraft.

You may only carry on travel sized products, 3 oz or less, and you may have no more than what will fit into a quart sized ziplock bag. You must have this bag out and separate from your other carry on luggage, and place it separately in a bin through the scanner. You may place as many liquids and gels in your checked baggage as you like.

I know it was 3 oz of liquid, paste or gel contained in a Ziploc bag. You can have a Ziploc bag with several bottles of 3 oz. each. Check on the airport's website; They usually have the latest information.

It has to be a quart size bag. I am traveling with a small Occitane clear zip bag about the same size and have it crammed with little bottles, eyeliner, mascara, cologne, and toothpaste. Eye stuff, like visine, is okay in a purse.
