I'm in a popcorn phase right now and can't get enough of fresh hot popcorn, so I've got some microwave popcorn and I do it exactly like the instructions tell me, but there are always some corns in the bag that get burned somehow, which makes the fresh popcorn smell very dislikable. I also tried it with just the popcorn button on the microwave, but I get the same result. I tried to take it out a little sooner but then half of the corn isn't popped. Please give me some tips what I can do to have all my popcorn perfect and no little burned scent-destroyers in the bag. :o/
Thanx

I've found that with most new microwaves (read: high power) 2:30 is as long as you'll need to go for popping. More just burns. The trick is to pay attention when you're cooking it and listen for when the pops slow down. more than 3-4 seconds between pops--stop cooking. Once you've done it once successfully you'll know just how long to set it for from then on!

I eat a lot of microwave popcron and never have burned pieces (Except when making mistake of trying Redenbockers <-SP))

I use Act III and it always turns out good.... I have heard that low watt microwaves will tend to burn popcorn...

Might also try working the 'butter' around with fingers to spread it out before cooking it so there isn't one 'clump' in the middle that takes longer to melt and heat up.

Stay close to the microwave while it's cooking so you can keep an eye on it. Pull it out before it gets the chance to burn, and leave it in long enough so all the kernels can be cooked. Good luck.

I've learned that pressing the button marked "popcorn" is the best bet. The mocrowave automatically adjusts it's power to pop an entire bag perfectly. No left over curnals, no burnt smell.

Listen at the end and when you hear it only popping every 3-4 seconds take it out. Good eats!

Try the 5 Second rule. Once it starts popping, start listening. If you can count up to 5 seconds from one pop to another, it's done.

No burning and it works.

Just use the directions on the bag. If you hear the poping coming to a slow then take it out and let it finish poping on its own.
