Aerobic exercises. You have to move yourself side to side and well as up and down and left and right.

TaiChi, karate, sit ups, push ups, crunches, hoola-hoops, dancing, playing twiser - anything to move that waist around.

All kinds of crunches help firm the muscles but if you have some giggly stuff sitting on top you'll need to do something aerobic to burn it off. Aerobic is swimming, dancing, step classes, stationary bike, elliptical, walking fast, running, tae bo, kickboxing, anything that wil get your heart rate up and keep it there for 20 minutes or more. It takes your body 20 minutes to start burning fat when it's moving.
Also these foods need to be cut way back on, and cut your portions in half if you're eating too much. Watch these things and limit them to once a week: cheeses, sweets, sodas, chips, fast foods. Your biggest meals should be in the morning and lunch, dinner should be lighter. Having nice abs is a combination of eating right and exercising. Bummer huh lol

Love handles are pockets of fat, nothing more and nothing less. To lose fat, you must do a combination of cardio and diet. You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout to use as well.

It depends on where your body stores its fat, if your body stores its fat in the tummy area, then sit ups alone wont do it for you. You need to exercise regularly, and eat healthier and eventually it will come off.
I myself have been seeing a personal trainer for 2months, and with all the measurements, its just starting to reduce my belly lately, even tho i've weight off my hips, buttocks, chest, and shoulders, tummy is where i store my fat....
goodluck
