First of all, I must say that some people have read more into the question than what is there. I don't see any part of this question containing Iraq, Saddam or any of that. By saying it's about oil is insane. That's obviously not what she's asking (nor is it why we're at war).
I don't know why countries do this. There's many that are guilty of what you're referring to. When their hand is out, we're the first country they contact. However, when the US decides to do something or needs support, they turn their backs on us. I say there's only one way to handle this. The next time they need a favor whether monetary or troops to watch their backs or anything, we simply say NO. Sometimes, the smallest country can do alto to help the US when we need it. But, they seldom return the favor and it needs to end. Americans usually end up suffering because of it. Many countries would realize their mistakes and support more US decisions if we did that more often. "What goes around, comes around".
I wish there was a direct answer, but I don't think there is. I'm sure each country is "2-faced" for their own reasons. Maybe it's just to be popular or whatever.

It's called the freedom of speech and any country that can take criticism and then still help out that country in need, definitely comes out on top.
No country's government or foreign policy is perfect but if we feel that criticism is unwarranted, we have the right to rebuff it. If a big company gives a lot of money to a charity, does that charity give up its right to criticise that company if it thinks the company has done wrong? I shouldn't think so. That would be buying people's right to speech and we don't do that here. We should be the bigger, better country who can take the criticism, change if we did wrong or be stoic if we are in the right.

It has always been that way..... I dont understand it either. I can only say we have to rise above it and realize that we are the Lords chosen land. We have done much good in this world due to our Christian heritage. We must not lose that spirit or our nation will die.
We must also start standing up and living better lives or the protection we once enjoyed will no longer be there for us. I think 9-11 showed us that.
Lets rise up folks and live better.
Choose the right-

Well every country needs the support or help from "Super Power nation" and The Americans have Big Heart,we do always helps that's our nature. If some how they criticize that's because of some misbehavior of our soldiers while stay in their country. As a Human being we must understand what is a sex?How we have a pleasure in it.so if soldier enter into a sexual relationship-there is nothing wrong in our opinion,But the peoples of other country have a different belief.Or they can blame us we re mean for Oil-Gas or contracts.Well every nation needs it for his peoples to do a business with the other nation and build a strong business and political relationship.

If you just give, instead of charging huge interest charges on your so called charitable donations that you expect paid back, they might just percieve you as a better country. Did you know that the countries of nigeria and zair owe more in interest penalties to the US than the country makes each year?

i think many times a "country" asks for help and they get it in the form of loans from banks ... then the common people themselves never see a benefit ...im trying to think of an instance where the US actually helped someone but i cant at the moment ... and just for your info, i dont consider bombing the crap out of someone and killing hundreds of thousands of civilians "liberating" or "helping" them ...
