You would loose mostly muscle and then when you began eating regularly, you would gain more fat and start to look real flabby.

The correct way to do it is to FAST FOR TWO DAYS - but when I say FAST, I mean do not eat SOLID FOODs for two days. BUT you must drink LOTS OF LIQUIDS during these two days.

And after that, EAT NORMALLY for the rest of the week - all 3 meals, plus 2 in-between meal snacks plus desert (fruit and such). Then repeat it again the next weekend.

You should lose 8 to 10 lbs. the first week, and about the same the second week. You have about enough time to lose the 15 lbs. by Nov. 4th.

If you eat only one meal a day, your body will go into starvation mode, and when you eat normally again you will gain about 5 lbs. PER DAY that you starved yourself - so that would be over 50 lbs of PERMANENT WEIGHT GAIN that you would get.

This is also why it is IMPORTANT that you DRINK STUFF during the times you are fasting - water, milk and juice are very very important! Drink all day long - dont skimp!

You will not starve. You will not instantly become thin. Fasting is consuming only liquids. When the body does not have to deal with digesting solid food and getting rid of the waste that solid food creates, it can concentrate on getting rid of toxins. The most common reason to fast is to eliminate disease or from the body.

How much weight will I lose?

The main benefit offered by a fast, to those who wish to lose weight, is the speed of the weight loss. To see a person drop 30-to-40 pounds in a 30-day juice fast is to see a person totally transform his life. Self-esteem is given a boost and for the first time in their life, discipline becomes a lifestyle. The fast becomes a catalyst for a total life overhaul. People start dressing better, showing more confidence, becoming more organized, more dedicated in relationships and more at peace.

Initially, weight loss can be as high as three-to-four pounds per day, but as the fast continues, the average loss will be one pound-per-day. If you are juice fasting and not losing weight, the juice is supplying all the calories you need. You may have to cut down on the juices or alternate between water fasting and juice fasting if losing weight is part of your goal. The slower your metabolism is the slower the weight loss.

Try to stay focused on the healthy things you are doing to improve your life rather than being consumed with the number of pounds lost each day. Water retention can vary your weight five pounds so watching the scale can be frustrating. The best motivation to fast is for physical and spiritual health. Be patient; the fasting process is slow. Be thankful the toxins are leaving your body. Do not have unrealistic expectations. Give your body the time it needs to do the work of cleansing.

Fasting And Metabolism

The fear is that while fasting, the metabolism will slow down and afterward there will be more weight gained than before the fast. Initially, any calorie reduction will cause a lowering in the BMR or base metabolic rate. Cleansing will bring health that will increase metabolic performance and energy output. In other words, you will eat less and feel more energetic.

After fasting, the body is more efficient. Digestion is better due to a cleaner colon. The colon walls have been cleansed of impacted feces, allowing improved absorption of nutrients. The good news is that greater efficiency equals enhanced energy. Healthy people burn more calories. They also eat less because they are more active and feel better about themselves. They don't need food as a security blanket.

The greatest impact you can have on increasing your resting metabolism is exercise. After a workout, you can be sitting on the couch reading while burning calories, as the muscles are grabbing glucose from the blood to replace glycogen supplies. The key to weight loss is fewer calories and more exercise. A diet high in raw food provides fewer, low-density calories, and higher-fiber, more-filling foods.

Oh, by the way, a slower metabolism diminishes aging. A tortoise can live to 400 hundred years of age.

If you only eat one meal a day you will tend to eat quite a bit, then be hungry as hell in between that one meal. The best way to do it would be to eat three or four small meals a day eating small portions. Stay away from foods high in fat and carbohydrates. Eat lots of fruit and white meat, such as baked chicken, turkey or pork (not chops). Steamed veggies are a must. The key to do this and I mean THE KEY is to exercise. It sounds to me like you don't exercise at all, so don't go full tilt or you will hurt yourself. Walk briskly for 30 or 45 minutes a day, all that is needed is for you to raise your heart rate. Losing 15 pounds in 11 days is going to be very difficult to do but not impossible, just remember to spread small meals around with small portions, and please don't do any of those Hollywood diets, they are not good for you. DO NOT get dehydrated, you might lose a few pounds quicker but it causes many serious Short-term problems such as low blood pressure (dangerously low) and kidney stones and unbalanced electrolytes (can cause seizures) and the weight can be gained back in a matter of hours.

You can do that ( in my opinion it is unhealthy). You should try waking up and eating a Nutrition Bar (preferably Nature Valley). Jog 1 mile every morning, and add 1 miles each MORNING. You should drink only water, and Gatorade or vitamin water until Nov 4th. Try that I lost 20 LBS in 1 week doing that! Skip lunch, until you get really hungry and eat a small porportion of pasta or something with a high carbohydrate level. When you run you will build up energy and use all of those carbs, and progressing on you will keep up building your carbs and losing them, and as time goes on you can lay off the carbs and eat chicken with vegtables and a sweet tea.

The brain and heart need constant energy to function properly and one meal a day won't cut it. You will feel sluggish and not as quick mentally. The body also tries to compensate for the starvation it is experiencing by retaining fat (remember how the starving kids in Ethiopia look). It would actually be better to eat many smaller meals throughout the day (as many as 5 to 6) find out you bodies basic caloric need and aim for slightly under that for awhile. The best way to loose weight is to count calories

Simple answer...yes. Eat about 500 to 750 calories a day and exercise as often as possible and the weight will come off. After that eat about 1500 calories a day and you won't gain weight. The very low calories works for only a short time. Two weeks should not be a problem. It takes longer than that for your body to kick into "starvation mode."

PS. To gain 5 lbs. a day you would need to eat over 20,000 calories a day more than you burn.

I'd eat 3 small meals a day, just reduce the portions you eat and only eat healthy foods. Also, do a little exercise. You can use a dietary supplement to aid the process, like Hoodia or Trimspa, but they are not cheap. Just eat some fruit and vegetables, drink fluids (water and fruit/vegetable juice) and get a little exercise. You'll be fine.

I don't think that's very healthy. It could make you lose weight, but trust me, you wouldn't want to do that. I would say try going on a diet, only eating salads and fruits. Don't eat if your bored, that's just making you eat more. Try staying away from those greasy, oily kinds. Also, exercise more regularly. That should help too.

nope it would take longer than that, your body will sense the lack of nutrition and go into starvation mode...which actually makes you look heavier and bloated, You need to drink water all day long and eat grapefruit or oranges, This way your body will still be given nutrition. Although this is not a healthy lifestyle for a long period of time it is good to lose weight quickly when needed.
