I personally changed doctors over this but the issue has really bothered me.

When going to the doctor's office I had to provide this child's health insurance information and sign that I was responsible for all her bills as she was a minor or she couldn't even be seen BUT I can't know what is wrong with her.

There was no concerns of abuse and we had gone to this doctor for years with our sons. So this issue really throw me.

I'd for sure get another doctor. You damn right It's my right to know what is wrong with my daughter. Try and tell me different.

Please refer to the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution. You will find it was legal for them to deny you medication. They are under no obligation to provide you with a medication, especially a medication that is such a high class. Were they professional? No, but they didn't do anything illegal. If you don't pay your bill, they will have the right to go after you in court and sue you which will go on your credit report. The judge won't care about how they treated you. They will only care about the fact that you were given a service and you are now refusing to pay.

Well, in that case you tell him she'll pay his bill. I would think you feel kind of disappointed him being your doctor for a while and all. I don't blame you I would have switched too. I mean 14 years old? They are tripping. I do remember one time when I was 14 my mom took me to the doctor. I was pregnant and they wouldn't tell her either. That was in 1984. So I guess it all depends on what it is. I still say tell him your gonna let her pay his unconcerned a**. Good Luck and GOD BLESS!!!!!

Sadly this is the law now. Look up HIPAA laws. It does seem ridiculous that it should be like this, but it is. I work in a gyne office, and we have patients sign forms as to who we are allowed to talk to about their condition. The only way that you can get around this is by making sure that your child puts your name down as someone that can get information about their medical records.

Unfortunately that's the new thing going on. They won't even tell you if your kid is a virgin or not without the kids permission. Yet they want parents to be vicariously responsible for their children. It's total crap. If you want to do a petition i'll sign it.
