I work with a girl and we get along superbly. She is a lot closer to me then anyone else and I dont make as much an effort with her as she makes with me. She randomly goes out of her way to talk to me and the way she comes across to me is just more to it then being friends or her being friendly. In our recent conversations she has mentioned that she cant trust guys and I was pretty sure till last week that she was single, as confirmed by other people I know that she knows. However, during a recent conversation in the past few days, I asked her what she was doing over the weekend, and she covered with visiting friends, visiting family and seeing boyfriend. The 'boyfriend' has never been mentioned ever in the 5 months ive known her and we talk about quite personal things. She could also have reason to believe that I may be interested in her. So, where does this 'boyfriend' come from, could this be a front to tell me she isnt interested, and how can I back off and keep my distance.

If she has gone out of her way to talk to you, then there's a very very very good chance that's she's interested. Maybe the whole 'boyfriend' thing is to see what your reaction would be. Just to make sure that you're interested. If you want to see if she's really interested, drop a hint. Like put your arm around her once, very very casually. If she moves closer to you, she's probably interested. If she freezes or flinches, that's a good sign that it's a no. If she doesn't do anything, that's a very bad or a good thing. It either means that she doesn't care, or she's very comfortable around you. The comfortable part can be a good or a bad thing. It might mean that she sees you as a just a friend. If she smiles when you do it, that's a good scene. Also brag about your friends who are girls. Talk about how they're so cool and stuff. If she gets all huffy and stuff, that's a good sign she's interested. Even if she doesn't realize it. Just wait it out for a little longer. And ask questions about the, um, 'boyfriend', and watch what she says. If the answers come out naturally, that means she isn't lying. If she hesitates, she could be lying. Firt Off,

Do you like her?

Cause if you do then Ask her out and stop the BS! And do give me the Old oh she likes me more than I do crapola cuz thats just craziness,

She must like you, but you are a SNAIL- by this point someone would have just asked her out already,

Ask her OUT!

And personally he is most likely imaginative type of boyfriend or very NEW- Which means dating! NOT married.

Don't be ridiculous, just say What are you doing for lunch go hang out ( no onions) And Plant one on her and see if she responds-

I bet she will,

OH and UH FYI incase you didn't know this already- Dutch is NOT OK! so your paying for the Cheeseburgers on the DATE! PONY UP!

Second, but first real date should be some place nice , but romantic cause she's been waiting for you way too long.

Bottom line - let her know your not her GAY best friend. And stop telling the rest of the office your BIZ Wax. Just do it!
HELLO-NIKE!

OH and dress for the occasion, cologne is necessary.

GOOD LUCK!

Keep me posted

Meg

Sometimes a woman mentions to a guy she likes that she is dating someone else if the guy she is interested in is not giving her as much attention as she would like, or in your case not making "as much an effort with her as she makes with" you. She might like you & dropped these hints so that it would pique your interest enough to ask her out. (It obviously worked b/c you seem very interested.)

But, the other answer is that she really does have a boyfriend. Perhaps he is a new bf & that is why she has never mentioned him before.

If you are truly interested inquire about the bf & how serious it is & if she is dating other people. If she says yes then you are free to ask her out. But something tells me that you are only interested in her b/c she is now wi/someone else.

It's not a front, but she does have a boyfriend. Sounds like your just way off in thinking that she "goes out of her way to see you". Try to rememer that girls can and will have a conversation with a guy that they are not interested in as boyfriend material. Sometimes a talk/visit is just a talk/visit. And in this case, obviously that's all it is.

Devin told Steven that you perform miraculous Fellatio, men are always looking for a good 30 minutes of Fellatio a week no matter what else may come between you, keep up the good work.
