Deep question...but when one "dies" it is just your body that dies. wether it be from trauma or natural causes the body is only a shell. If you have ever watched someone die, it is a very surreal experience. It is almost as though you can see the soul seperate from the body? I'm not sure exactly where we "go" I guess that all depends on one's beliefs, It is NICE to envision going to a "better place" but sometimes I think we just go in the ground? Who knows????? All I DO know is that I DON'[T want to find out ANY time soon!

I will stay here on earth and make sure my wife is okay, and haunt those who I dislike.
I will also look into the lives of my grandchildren and get close to them.

Death is illusion; we do not go anywhere, for space is an illusion too. We are actually one Self, or Son, or Beloved Child. What we call "death" is a change of focus, wherein we find our true nature, to create and revel in our freedom, and our perfection, and our love.

you go to the same place you go when you go to sleep and dream before Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead he told the people he was just a sleep his body had already started to rot he was stinking dead but wake up Lazarus is what Jesus said wake up Lazarus woke up from the dead when we die it will only seem like a short time that we were a sleep when we wake to that final judgment day for some that day will be like a awards ceremony for others much worse the kind of dreams you have now may determine the kind you would have if you were to die now do you have sweet dreams or are they nightmares.

If you truly want to know the answer to this question and the questions where we came from, why we are here and where we will go after we die I would suggest that you talk to some LDS (mormon) missionaries. What they teach is amazing and I know that it is true.

Death is the transition between living and nonliving in anything that was alive. You don't go anywhere, and you are beyond caring about it.

Physical death is your body seperating from your soul.
Spiritual death is being seperated from God (hell).
When you die you either go to heaven (if you know Jesus as your personal savior) or you go to hell (if you do not). It's as simple as that.
