yes its called a inverter it will transform a car battery to high voltage the come with adapters to plug into cig lighter or clamps, also they have the power point so you just plug your dvd straight in i use a 300 watt an it gives me enough power to run a tv an a dvd player plus a low voltage light hook your battery to a solar panel wammo free power.

what about candles. well you can get power from a charged battery. you have to watch the voltage though. I will be exciting but short if you plug you ac dvd player into a battery or your 3 volt light in 12 volt supply.

I guess that you are trying to power AC equipment from the car battery. You will need to get an inverter. Be sure to check its capacity to make sure that it will handle the amount of wattage required.

some auto part stores carry adapters that convert car batter power into the right voltage to run appliances, and even provide an outlet, but don't expect your alternator to keep charging your battery, with all that stuff running, it will be dead in no time

you need an inverter. car batteries are dc electricity and lamps and dvd players are ac electricity. an inverter converts dc electricity to ac. they might be a bit expensive though.
