I have lots and lots of long thick hair. My hair is fairly dry. It has been previously coloured. I guess I need a powerful hairdryer (a good make) to help prevent frizziness during the drying process. Plus having lots and lots of hair means it takes ages to dry at the moment, so I guess an ionic dryer will be best. Any suggestions?

Get a salon quality one like Babyliss, you can get them from salon wholesalers and some popular shops although slighlty more than one from a high st shop it will last longer and do a much better job. Also make sure it has a cool air switch, this sets the hair straight/curly or however you want it, making it last in the desired style longer! Here is a suggestion which looks to be available in Argos too - http://www.babyliss.co.uk/jkcm/default.aspx?pg=932

Always good to buy a high-power hair dryer with several heat settings. any brand would do.

Its because you want to dry your hair with less heat in less time.. to prevent further damage. Since your hair is dry anyway... use a heat protection spray whenever you blowdry your hair.

To prevent frizziness, the trick is HOW to blow dry it, as in the directions and techique. use a smooth paddle brush for long hair. blow dry from bottom layers to top... mimic what your hairdresser do when s/he dry your hair!!

Andis 80020 Ionic 1875W Ceramic Hair Dryer with Folding Handle and Retractable Cord is your best bet. My sister has this heap of hair that was real thick and frizzy. She bought this and now I wish I had her hair!! It takes her half the time it used to take her and it leaves her hair smooth.
