At the beginning of this semester I met this girl and we have hung out a number of times. The last time we hung out at her place we kissed and really had a great night, so a couple of days later i emailed her to make plans again. Yesterday she emailed me saying she will be out of town for a funeral and doesnt know when she will be back. She said she will let me know when she will return, but she also told me we need to talk. This was the first time we kissed and it wasn't awkward it would have happened sooner or later. I need some advice on what to expect from the phrase "we need to talk". Could she have changed her mind about kissing me or is she looking for more. Please ladies what does this mean?

My only advice - "duck and cover", which will be about as much use as it would have been under a nuclear attack.

"We need to talk" means you are a dead man.

It could be that she needs to tell you that she may not want a relationship with you. If she "needs to talk" it's because she has something on her mind and needs to tell you about it. She then want's you to listen and discuss what she said. I know those words sound really scary. Like when you did something wrong and had a "talk" with you parents. You may get hurt but what she has to say. Then again maybe not. I do find it strange that she doesn't know when she will be back after the funeral. Especially if she has school yet to finish this semester. This may be her way of letting you down easily because she want's to end seeing you and doesn't know how to tell you.

There are a few occasions when a girl says that "we need to talk phrase. Either to break-up or because she wants to know what is really going on between you and her.

So these are my guesses;

1- she wants to breakup, she may have enjoyed kissing you, but does not want to date you. Like a change of heart kind of thing which it happens alot with girls.

2-She really enjoyed kissing and wants to define the relationship, something like we kissed now what? girls we think too much!

Either way, keep your cool, be honest with your feelings. Be yourself and don't let anyone take your spirit.

Good luck!

It could mean a lot. It could be a good thing or a bad thing you never know. Just be prepared she might be stressing over the funeral, she thinks you guys could be more then friends ( if you aren't already), or maybe she needs some space but whatever it is don't be nervous.

Its probably her wanting to either get together with you, becuase some girls dont kiss until they are in an actual relationship. Or maybe she isnt ready for a relationship it really depends on how she feels about the kiss, good luck to you

She whats to have a serious conversation with you about somethng. What that is could be anything. Maybe she just wants to tell you that she likes you just as a friend and things went father than she meant. Just relax and listen to her and be honest.

There's no real way to be positive about what she meant by that. It could have been something small or it could have been that she wants to tell you something big. Wait until she gets home and then talk to her. Don't stress yourself out trying to analyze what she meant by that when there could be so many things.

It could mean anything. She could mean that she really likes you and wants to take your relationship to the next level. Or it could mean that she thinks your a complete a**hole and never wants to see you again. I can't narrow it down to the exact answer but I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

I say if she's saying this so soon than there she might say that she made a mistake, or wasn't herself. I really doubt I would say we need to talk and then say WOW you're a great kisser. Be prepared.

Sorry hun, I'm not a mind reader, but "we need to talk" is not always a bad thing. Wait for her return and see what happens. Good luck....
