I really don't suggest downloading it for 'free' from limewire because the risks of getting a very bad virus is great. Anyways, it all really depends on what you are going to do with the program. It'd be a waste of money (or risk killing you computer if you download for 'free') if you are not using all it's tools. That's how I bought my copy.

If you really want it, you can try Ebay or if you are a student, then you can get a student discount from places like this http://www.academicsuperstore.com/ . You'll probably be paying half it's price with the discount.

There are alternatives like Photoshop Elements which is geared for the home user rather than for professional use. It doesn't have all the features that Photoshop CS does, but it's still powerful, nontheless. Also, it's cheaper ($70-100) than the full version (even more so when you get the student discount). Also, if you get a waccom tablet it comes with an older version of Elelemts for free (as well as painter classic). You can also try Paintshop Pro which has a bit more tools than Elements, but around the same price.

There are free programs as well. One being the GIMP http://www.gimp.org/windows/ that is very similar to photoshop. The interface does take time to get use to, but it's a pretty good program. Another one is photo plus http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/ . I haven't played around this one yet, but it looks promising.

There's an excellent alternative to Photoshop that's an open-source program, and totally free. It's called "Paint.Net" and is available to read about and download at the below link. Another main advantage is that it's legal and no threat of viruses, etc. Good luck.
