The better question is how many people take COPIES of their birth certificates instead of the original with a raised seal? I know a few!!

If anything, we take our passports and our flight info-the rest I can afford to forget!!

It's something you only ever do once in your life, just as you only ever once in your life leave all your credit cards or all your onward travel tickets behind. I've done all three in my time and now do neurotic checks every time I travel. Oh, and another thing I did once was miss my plane because I was so busy browsing in the airport bookshop that I didn't hear them call my flight!

I've never forgotten mine, but I didn't bother to have an appropriate one for my kids last time we flew. (Yay for emergency passport offices!) When my husband was a kid they forgot the tickets once.
