yes, there are many parts of the body that soda affects. First off, drop a penny into a glass of coke. Watch what the coke does to the penny. Just imagine what this does to the lining of your stomach. Also, soda is bad for your teeth, and is also known to cause breast fibroids. I once had a doctor tell me that one can of mountain dew is equivalent to three cups of coffee. Not to mention the fact that some sodas contain over 300 calories a can. This is a lot when your average daily intake is supposed to be from 1,500-2,000 calories.

yep. All the sugar and crap in it. I stopped drinking soda and over the course of 6 months lost about 15 lbs. ALL I did was stop drinking soda. No exercise, no other diet change.

YES!!! Sodas are full of sugar and sugar is poison and will make you fat. Sodas that are sugar-free have sugar substitutes which are carcinogenic or can cause organ damage. It also contains high amounts of sodium which cause weight gain and affect your body's natural mineral balance (sugar does the same thing). and the carbonation in soda is carbonic acid which destroys enzymes. your body has metabolic enzymes, and digestive enzymes and if you eat raw food your food contains enzymes. Enzymes are vital for life!

They're nothing but a chemical and sugar swill, that will do nothing but gradually make you fat and/or give you cancer one day, in my opinion.

i loved them as a kid, too, but now I wouldn't touch one with a ten-foot-pole.
