Most Marine snipers I have met in the past have always been enlisted guys not officers. My dad is in Iraq as a private military contractor and I met some of the guys on his team in Kuwait during the Summer. One of team leaders used to be a USMC Scout Sniper and he retired as an E-7 or Gunnery Sergeant. Officers might make better pay but in your mind can you make decisions that could lead some kid or group of kids to their deaths because you made the wrong decision.

Officers make much more than snipers.
Go for the money.
Do you have a degree?
If no, than go for sniper because you can not be an officer in the Marine Corps without a degree.

You can't be both.
You can either be an enlisted rifleman who is trained to be a sniper, or you can be the officer who LEADS the platoon of infantry, including snipers. The officer needs to spend his/her time planning, coordinating, and aboveall leading his troopers. You can't do that if you are laying in a hide position for three days.
That being said, Sniper school is offered to all ranks to attend, and units may establish their own advanced marksmenship training (sniper) courses.

Sniper is a great job, + think about it, would you want to be responsible for an entire squad of men in a dire situation.
If you are planning to enlist, remember that your can find other jobs in the military other than these two.
One good tip would be to visit a recruitment office nearby for more details on these jobs.
Good Luck!

A college degree is required to be a military officer. By the time you finish school, you will be able to answer your own question.
