According to religion a few hundred of years ago the Earth was the center of the universe. The sun and all of the planets circled around the Earth, and God made the Earth to be the center of the universe.
As things changed and educated peoples began to realizee how outlandish silly that idea was the churches relented enough to allow soem leaway. Still the theory that heaven ruled was the law of the land up until today.
According to religious beleifs (or accepted christianity) the Earth is about 5000 years old as well as the universe. The universe as the faiothfyul see it is about as far as you can view the stars in the nights, and is sounded by a darkness holding the universe and everything together.
This site will giv eyou size information which is all at this time theory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universe#Size_of_the_universe_and_observable_universe
There is no accepted scientific size explanation as the rate it is expanding daily increases the known size, and we there fore know we are facing an unknown sized universe.
The known size of th euniverse is about 78 billion light years, and growing large each day.
Several theories are;
The theory that the universe is never ending and expands for ever as every thing is it (galaxies, stars, planets ect) are expanding away from each other so that eventually there will be no viewable lights in the night sky.
That the universe is a part of many multi universes.
That the size of e universe is definate and eventually all things now expanding and moving away form each othe rwill circle and come back to the point of the big bang causing another , distroying every thing in existence and resulting a new universe .
Religions view of a creator is not accepted in scientific terms.

Science makes the universe seem limitless and infinite (time).
Christianity limits the universe by excluding the possibility of the unknown. Christianity limits human potential by claiming that we already know the truth. Christianity embraces the material aspects (proof) of science which limits the size of the universe.
Other religions take full advantage of the limitless universe and don't wait for scientific explanation (proof).

thrilling, yet fairly some the ideas right it is not credited to Indian texts. There are additionally many different cultures that had progressed mathematical and scientific wisdom such via fact the Mayans and Egyptians. i do no longer think of this has lots to do with faith according to sé. if so, the Christian bible provides many scientific ideas, makes use of cutting-edge scientific theories and techniques. Ex: photosynthesis in genesis, radiation outcomes, selective breeding of the lambs... So on! Oh, and there is likewise an air craft description interior the OT!

Lets not say the universe. i'll give you a simple clue. man made a car. what can the car do? to just drive along. anything else? No, just to drive. Now compare the differences between human and that car. what can human do? Human created tall buildings, huge ships, all you see around you. man could even love. DID you see how faaaaaaarrr the differences between a man and that car.
Same concept goes to Allah(S.W.T)(God). He created us humans. Can you compare us and GOD just like Humans and that car. So God created universe. do you think that is his limit? I don think so.
So to ans how big is the universe according to religion. we don even know. I bet Humans(scientist) only knew 0.001% of whatever Allah(S.W.T)(God) created.

As can be measured, the same. Religion (Christ worship) and science do not conflict. It is the interpretation of evidence that creates problems. What is unapproachable light?
Be enlightened by the anointing of the Holy One.
