I am 21 years old, am 6ft tall and weigh 10 stone (if I'm lucky!). This is underweight for my age and physically, I look thin. I have tried weight-gaining drinks and general pigging-out(!) and for some reason I cannot gain weight. I know the common myth is that sweets make you fat, but I spend about £1 on sweets per day (that, by the way, is a lot of sweets for one person to eat in a single day!) and have done so nearly every day for years, but nothing works. Can anyone shed some light on how I can gain weight quickly and safely? I wish to gain at least 1 stone.

Sweets are lovely, but will rot your teeth, my dear. You could try eating things that are high in fat, things like peanut butter and nuts? You could consider going the doctors for a thyroid test - is yours is high, or on the high side you can take Carbimazole to slow it down slightly, this will basically slow your metabolism down. Other things could be going to the gym and do some weight training??
Otherwise feel lucky, and try to live with it and dress to compliment your size.

I'd suggest joining a local gym and getting some advice. With the right weights and the right exercises plus a healthy diet (lots of protien!) you should start building some muscle and putting on weight.

Go and visit the doctor and tell him you feel you are underweight. If he decides you are he may run some tests. Apart from going to the doctor, the quickest way to gain weight is to drink plenty of milk. Good Luck.

first of all, you are going to end up with diabetes later on in life from eating all of those sweets and if you did gain weight by eating them your stomach would just stick out.
You are having so much trouble gaining weight because you have a high metabolism. Research "hihg metabolisms" on-line and see what you coem up with

You can have a high metabolism or you could have a problem with your thyroid. Make a doctors appointment.
My cuz is the same way, she can eat whatever and still loose weight.

I'd say to become friends with your local McDonald's, but that will make you far too unhealthy. Better to remain thin. Try packing on some muscle.
