I'm going over to Betty Wimberly's house for dinner and I promised to bring desert. Her boy is an scientist person who who wears a lab coat at the pharmaceutical pant. Well, he told Betty that he didn't believe in God anymore. I've never known anybody to say that, but I think if I fix the right desert it might change his mind. So what should I make?

Mighty me! I do mean "dessert." I'm so embarrassed. This has gone out to the whole world. It's like my bloomers are showing!

What the??! Just because he doesn't believe in God doesn't mean he doesn't believe in dessert. Make whatever he liked before you knew his religious beliefs, but you probably don't know what that is because you never cared before. Now you think he's Satan's prodigy and you care what to make for dessert?! Make it something with nuts, so he knows it's from you. :)

Do you mean "desert," like you typed, meaning a place with no water, or "dessert," meaning an after-dinner sweet treat?

I'll assume, from context, that you meant "dessert."

Give the atheist a plate with nothing on it. After all, he does not believe that after this life there is anything sweet. Why should dinner be different? Then, start eating some angelfood cake yourself. Reserved for believers.

You think a dessert might change his mind?

Sheesh...

Try something with quality chocolate in it.

Or you could just settle for the old standby...chocolate chip cookies.
