I drink 4 cans per day, get headaches if I don't, and now that I try to stop, the urge/cravings are stronger!!!

The most satisfying substitute I can find for soda is to use club soda with lime or lemon sqeezed in it. It's great if you can find expensive carbonated waters too, like Perierre.

You can stop but you will go through withdrawal. Bring yourself down off of four to three cans and then to two and then one. Better yet if you can stand headaches then go cold turkey in about a week the craving will die. Just quit it all together. Start drinking it again and it will rear its ugly caffeine craving head. sounds like you need the caffeine or like the sugar. The crave comes from whatever it is sweetened with or the caffeine. You can stop it but it will be something you stop. If you start back up the craving will return. Been there and do that! I swore off pop for 4 years once and then got back on it. I am worse than ever whether its regular or diet!

1. Start drinking way more water. It will help with the headaches and to cleanse your system.
2. Ween yourself off the sodas and deal with the headaches.
3. Keep drinking tons of water instead.

In the end, you will feel so much better than you did drinking 4 sodas a day that all those headaches will be worth it.

Those symptoms happen with any addiction. The best way
to stop is cold turkey........easier said then done, but remember
that you will have withdraws.....headaches, irritableness,
probably problems sleeping.

However, since soda is just bad for you, but not like alcohol or
drugs........ I would suggest stopping slowly.

Cut out one soda a day & replace it with something else.
Like a fruit smoothy....even a shake......make
it something you look forward to. Make it a treat....if you have
that soda you DONT get your treat!!! Give yourself a couple
weeks to adjust and then cut out another soda and replace
it with water or juice.

Also, if you start to drink your 65oz of water a day that will help
your body with the transition.

I now drink MAYBE one caffeinated soda a week....if even that.

Well, I was the same way!!! I always had to have about 3 can of coke a day, but I got pregnant, and if you drink cokes, then you have a great risk of having a miscarriage, well, I kept on drinking them, I started bleeding when I was 9 wks, so I gave them up, b/c my baby is more important than my cravings!!! So you can either get pregnant to help you stop or you can ask yourself this:
Is my body more important to me than coke? If you said yes, stop and every time you want a coke, pray and ask God to take that craving away from you!!! Good Luck!!!

Look I drink real close to 12 pack of mountain dew a day. I do know what your feeling though the easiest way is to buy root beer mug, barks, A&W what ever you perfer and replace one can at a time instead of coke or what ever. Or for $6 go to the store buy Advil Liquid gels and pop 2 or 4 for me and poof 15 min later your headache is gone. then drink root beer no caffine when you need pop it helps trust me.

Get Diet, much less sugar content, or U can try chewin gumm just like smoking,lol
