The term "fundamentalist" is only used as a slander by unbelievers. In the meaning of the root of the word, fundamentalist means to hold to the fundamentals which is importan for believers!!
I think what you mean to ask is "Why do Christians seem selfish?"
The answer is you probably dont know any or at least any good Christians to make a comparison to the regular people of the world such as yourself. Christians I have met over the years have been the most selfless people Ive ever been priveldged to be a part of. When both of my cars were brokedown, I communicated the need to the church and soon a couple that we had known offered us a spare car for us to use! Had I asked people at my work for the use of a spare car, they would have looked at me like I was a 3 headed monster.
Most believers give in accordance with their faith and Im sorry that you dont have any good Christian in fluences in your life. Maybe you can become the 1st you know of and then be a witness to others in your life!

Selfish, they would rather see everyone die in Armageddon so that they might have a chance to get into heaven then actually trying to stop such a bad thing that would cause the deaths of billions of people.
