Should I go dramatic against the existing white or another white color?

I have a cathedral ceiling in my house. The best way to enhance it is by adding color. You might consider going with a dark color on the walls and several shades lighter of the same color on the ceiling. It makes for a dramatic affect especially if you have crown mouldings, which can be painted white to stand out. People will love what you have done. Don't be afraid of color.

as a painting contractor i would reccomend a different shade of white, painting the ceilings any other color could be something you would regret, I have done a lot of homes with ceilings other than white , but they are floorplan specific ,and usually the descision to paint theceiling and what color are decided by overpaid designers,so keep it white and you will be better off.

My livingroom has a cathedral ceiling. The walls are khaki and the ceiling is a pale yellow-cream. I describe it as the color of candlelight. :) As soon as we bought this house we painted everything and got rid of any traces of old boring white.

I have seen colors other than white, but they never look good. Go with the white.
