lady_blue_face,
"Do you tithe?"
I admit, I have fallen short on that lately. Or at least I think that I have. Now that I am running a minisry with ONE person; me, I am not sure about whether the money used to stay on the internet is counted. Only God knows.
"If so, do you offer on top of that?"
Paul talked about that. Here, let me show you.
1 Corinthians 16:1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
He makes it clear that God counts what your attitude is that you give by:
Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
The King James does not do these verses justice. "Communicate" (G2841) is koinoneo, sharing materially. Today, we share with money. It's part of being a Christian. And for those other than those that are rich, money is becoming more and more difficult to accumulate. But God has said that He will bless the remaining amount that you keep with a promise:
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
And Paul said about that:
2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
"Do you think your church is using the money appropriately?"
None of my or your buisness. If it's the place where you aquire your spiritual food, then it's the place where you give it. You are not giving it to the church anyway. You are giving it in faith to God. If those that are running the church are not using it 'properly', that is: according to the furtherence of the Gospel, then that will be between God and them, not you. You are being obedient to the will of God by giving tithes, AND offerings, in the spirit of a hilarious giver.

1) Do you tithe? - yes
2) If so, do you offer on top of that? - not usually, although it wouldn't be a bad thing to give more.
EDIT: I thought you meant "Do you pay more than 10 % tithing". If you mean "Do you give other money offerings" then the answer is - sometimes.
3) Do you think your church is using the money appropriately? - yes

If you actually do a thorough search of tithing in the old testament it is actually more that 10% more like 33 percent or better.
I think our church uses it wisely. They help the needy, and this year we bought a semi load of food and handed it out free, so I would say by spending it wisely helping others is a good thing, and our church is growing.

I give tithes, and the extra you can put on top of that is an offering. An offering is usually 5% of what you make. So you wind up giving 15% of your paycheck, or other source of income. When you put your tithes and offering into the envelope it goes towards whatever fund you specify, if you don't specify I think it goes to whatever fund the church is contributing to that month.

I tithe at least 10% to my local church. I give other gifts (above that) to Christian organizations outside the church and some designated offerings (to specific needs) within the church as well as just helping people out with their needs as I am able.
I believe my church manages money well. If I had doubts about it, I would seek to change things within the church or look for another church to belong to. Giving to the local church is important.

It's not returning it to Him...it's all His...I just keep a percentage of what He has provided for me. I do tithe more than 10%...God has been good to me! I know our church uses the money appropriately, because we prayfully consider what God would have us do with the money. We also tithe to other ministries.

I give offerings to my church.
I think our church uses the money well. Much of it goes to a couple of missionaries in Zambia who have just managed to build an entire hydro-electric plant in a rural area, where poverty was seriously bad. They've managed to alter the Zambezi river's course for a mile or so, in order to generate electricity for an entire town of people who may now provide for themselves, by working in new factories, and mills which will be built in the near future! So, it's good to see God working through our church's offerings!

Yes, and give offerings too. I know that my church is using the money appropriately because we have business meetings every month where I see the treasure's report and see that the money is going to keeping the church up and running and to missions which is where it's supposed to be going.

Yes, its his money and I give back freely from my heart...God loves a cheerful giver. You should know where the money goes. A good church gives to your community, helping those in your church when a tough time happens, pays for all the children programs, youth trips, and the salaries of those that keep the doors open. Also, we should plug-in and volunteer when needed in any department that fits your gifts and talents.
