I have converted a track from a CD into an MP3 file, and basically want to extract the chorus of the song and have that as a new MP3 file. How on Earth do I go about doing this?

Amazingly enough, Barrett G, it is not a "Hoff" track, but a "Boss" track! I want the "Born in the USA" chorus!

Try an editor like audacity

or Mp3DirectCut

both free

Import it into a software sequencer, there are plenty free on t net, then cut, splice and paste the bits where you want. Can also be used to mix songs, verse from one, chorus from another, just import onto a new track.

Use soundforge which has filters to split out voice, bass etc
which you can then save as a new file. It's not perfect but does a decent enough job
