EarthAngel,
You are trying to be crazy? Heh. The Law of Moses states that the eating of shellfish is an abomination. Not the shellfish. In fact, He says that we need a covering to protect us from Him, because without that covering, we are dead in trespasses and sins. So whether the shellfish is wrong to eat or not, we are only saved by faith through Grace, the unmerited favor from God.

)1. He did not disapprove of the function the shellfish provided. He just did not want his people to eat them at that time.
2. Later, after Jesus had died on the cross; he allowed his people to eat them also (Acts 10).

God doesn't disapprove of shellfish. God knew of the health risks posed to people at a time when people didn't have the knowledge to clean the shellfish properly and thereby prevent the health hazards, and so he gave them this knowledge as a gift. Biblical knowledge in this respect--and regarding pork as well--was ahead of its time. It took science a long time to catch on. Nowadays, people are better educated regarding what must be done to shellfish and pork in order to eat it and not become ill.
