adam and eve weren't in love..
i don't think love between a man and woman is mentioned in the bible.

i mean.. there HAS to be love. God loved us, right?
but why not b/t a man and woman. is romantic love not as important? Was it something just created? or is it something (hate to say it) that was just made for people to reproduce?

Ephesians 5:25-27 - 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her;

A. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her - Here is the husband’s role in mutual submission. In submitting to God, he is to

love his wife with the same self-sacrificing love that Christ gave for the church. In this love the wife would never be violated but rather always encouraged, supported, nurtured and protected. The husband should at all cost, give of himself in order to meet his wife’s needs(whatever they are), even if it means his life! What an example of selfless love that we have in Christ! Truly husbands have a noble and lofty goal. How should a husband love his wife? – “Just as Christ loved the church,” consider the love of Christ……

Romantic love is wonderful but is not lasting. One must work at keeping it alive. True love lasts a lifetime.

A lot of these answers have been so good, yes love between husband and wife is absolutely something God wants. Let me take this opportunity to point out that this Love is so much more than infatuation - so many people seem to get those two confused (just check out the family and relationships section!)

lol... Adam and Eve WERE in love.
I'm not sure of the bible, but in the qur'aan it's mentioned in numerous places that God has made a parnter for us all. A partner for a man. A parter for a woman. So that we may let out our desires... it's written pretty clearly.

So yes, I believe God did make us to desire one another. It was intentional as stated.

of course.

I think that Adam and Eve did love one another, they had more than enough chance to fall in love during there stay in the Garden in thier perfect innocense. Why else would Adam have eaten of the fruit in order to stay with Eve. She would have been cast out and he would have been alone. Heavenly Father knew that they would love one another, the plan wouldn't have worked otherwise.

LOL You're kidding, right? The Song of Solomon is one long love poem between a ... man and a woman! God LOVES sex, and is looking forward to the completion of His Bride.

God created Eve for Adam right as Adam was lonely and Eve became his partner. As she was fashioned from a rib of Adam she is part of him as being one.

aww... someone has a broken heart. Well since you think that women have caused so much trouble since the world began maybe you should consider that the leader of a genocide, Aldolf Hitler, was a man... that well over 80% of the crimes committed in the US are by men... that in fact the masculinity has done a lot of damage to society and feminsts have helped create a better society.

How do you know Adam and Eve weren't in love? People wouldn't get married if they didn't love each other.
