Trying to remember from highschool...I think it's the process of a plant turning carbon dioxide to oxygen.

if you mean photosynthesis is the synthesis of sugar from light, carbon dioxide and water, with oxygen as a waste product. It is arguably the most important biochemical pathway known; nearly all life depends on it.

that's correct. . and it helps the plant process chlorophyl (or else make it), so that it can be nice and green, and we get oxygen out of it)
