lap band surgery? Do you have to be obease or just overweight to qualify? Funny, but I dunno if I'm fat enough. I've never wondered that before. I'm sure that will get me some rude answers. If you had the lap band surgery how much weight have you lost and how long has it taken?

The requirements keep changing but traditionally you should be Morbidly Obese. That is you are so overweight you will die at an early age because of your weight. This was a BMI of 45. Many surgeons will now offer it to folks with a BMI as low as 35 [significantly lower]. In general this means your twice the weight you should be or at least 100 lbs heavy.
