Ok well people tell me that over the summer I was a hyorochondriac. I used to be so concious about my health. One day I took a depression test and read all about it. I didn't really give it much thought because I was still obsessed about my other type of health. One day later I was so scared, I thought I was choking, that a thought in my head said, "Go kill yourself". I was so shocked that in that instant I went from being a health freak to mental health freak. I was sure I was depressed. After that little depression symptoms were stored in my head and everytime I felt a little bit of one of them, I'd freak out and turn a molehill into a mountain. So if I felt guilty about breaking a toy, I'd end up making myself feel so sick about it as if I had killed someone. Now I think really negativley. The scarey thing is that I keep on thinking about death and how things would be if I died. It scares me and I get so sick of those thoughts. Its really effecting me.

You definitely need to see a doctor. I would say a gp (general practitioner) and let him advise you and perhaps, he can even help you. Good Luck

If you are thinking about death and how things would be if you died, I'd advise you to get an appointment with a psychologist. It might be depression or another mental health issue, it may be a biochemical imbalance, or it might be "first year medical student's syndrome" and nothing to worry about -- but only a psychologist can tell you.

Unfortunately, it might take a while to get an appointment with a psychologist. So meantime here are a few numbers to tide you over: if you keep thinking about death and can't stop, and especially if you start thinking of killing yourself, CALL THESE INSTEAD. They are free and were open all the time when I last checked.

Or go to teenhelp.org and look in their "resources" section.

You may also want to talk to your parents: I don't know what your home situation is like, but you might be able to get some help from them.

The important thing to know is that there _is_ help out there for you, and you _can_ get through this.

Best of luck.

Go and talk to a doctor. Tell them what you have written here. The thing is, usually, that the fact that you are aware of this and reaching out even to this place means that you are searching for help more than searching of a way to end it all. There are a lot of people who have the thoughts of killing themselves and what would happen if they did. This DOES NOT mean that they act on it, but it should be an indicator that maybe you could use a little help at this point in your life, even if it is only to make sense of the things that are going through your head. Don't play with your life because there is no going back to fix what's already been done. Take care of yourself today, only you can start that path. Look into the eyes of those who are close to you and put yourself in their place, realize how many would be affected if you weren't here; even if it is only one would you really want to hurt them that way?

Ok first calm down!

1) If you think you have any physical ailments, then rather than worrying and obsessing about it, just go and see a doctor. That's what they're there for.

2) As for being depressed: when something happens, try and get some perspective. A toy is just a toy. Most things (and not just toys!) can be fixed quite easily. :o)

Take a step back. Calm down. Re-assess what just happened. ...and instead of getting upset about it, think about what you can do to actively "fix" and deal with things.

3) If you're ever depressed, upset or just feeling "down and out" ...then call a friend. Talk to someone about it. It'll make you feel a lot better. Don't ever isolate yourself when you're depressed...even if it's tempting to do just that.

4) If you tend to get depressed often, then try starting a new hobby or activity you think you might enjoy...like learning to dance! You'll meet a whole bunch of new and interesting people to keep your mind off negativity!

Good luck and just chill!

Nothing's worth getting so stressed out about :o)

I agree, it does not sound as hypochondriac but severe anguish, leading to panic attacks, which actually make you think your are about to die. You need to have it checked though, to exactly what it is.

I used to get every symptom of every illness I read about, and it was not until a psychologist told me everything about anguish that I understood what was going on-

good news:, it as a name and it has treatment.
it might take a while, it its true, but it also does always need chemical treatment. In some cases, pills are recommended until you can "stabilize" yourself enough to go to therapy. A piece of advice though. I went to several mental health professional, and none of them did the trick.

Instead, complementary therapies did. I personally would recommend Bach flowers. They are a vibrational medicine, extremely effective and with no side effects. You can actually buy "rescue remedy" from drugstores without prescription and it does WONDERS with crisis. Get a floral therapist to make your own blend. They are not expensive. Consider this a complement. Try also the "traditional mental health system" such as a psychologist.

take care and breath deep.

I was also called a Hypochondriac. Also felt a force telling me kill yourself. One day my head told me "I am becoming crazy". I am also depressed. I started talking medication (Cymbalta and Zyprexa) and got better. There is way out from Depression. I totally understand how these thoughts just jump in your head. This is caused by anxiety. Try to breath deep many times when you get them. Try to think positive. If I got better I am sure you will too ;)

You have a conditional panic disorder CPD with OCD, you keep thinking of things do not cross out your head... Death tthinking is one distinctive symptoms of CPD but if fears increased abnormally and acutely you have to keep good posture so that you get a good breath, and after that try to shout by thoughts that " I am ok" or " I will be fine" and keepsaying " I am good" and "I have experienced this feeling before and here iam still alive" and try to change your lifestyle, such as smoke less cigarrettes, drink less cofee and tea and last try a SSRI such as prozac and an antianxiety such as Alprazolam..... hope you all best.

Since you don't reveal an email address, I will attempt to cover some points here. Number one; why would you... a positive thinker fall prey to some depressive promotion? If you are put into a position of doubting yourself, you open yourself up to all the negatives you can find. As soon as you do that, you have changed the chemistry of the brain, and away you go into the state you are finding yourself.

When you get sick enough of it, contact me.

I went through the same thing before about how I was always thinking about death and the way I got through it was talking to my boyfriend and I realized that I was thinking all of these things because I had low self esteem and so I just tried to go to comedy shows or surround myself with people I love so I could have something positive to think about in life and eventually the thoughts went away. Dont worry this isnt permanent and you'll get through it. :)

You don't provide a lot of information about yourself, but I would say if you are having these persistant thoughts, it is much more than being a hypochondriac. I am a counselor and I highly recommend you seek professional help, you can get help learning to deal with those kind of thoughts. If you don't want to see a counselor of psychiatrist, talk to a trusted family member or friend.
