You need to get a reffereall for a GI dr who can give you the right tests to determine if you have acid reflux or a hiattal hernia or a problem with your esophogus. If none of the over the counter pills are helping it could be something more serious that only a specialist could determine. Also make sure you are not eating anything that could worsen the discomfort such as acidic foods and drinks like orages or OJ or tomatoes etc and nothing spicy. If changing your diet doesnt help, you need to see a specialist.

Are you sure it's indigestion? Could be you have problems with your heart, hope not. Make appointment to go to Doc's soonest. In the meantime, sip some cooled boiled water each morning with a little peppermint essence added. All the best.

Gaviscon is very good or weak bicarbonate of soda. But I suffered from it for years and was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia. I now take omosprazole which is prescribed by my doctor and dont have a problem. If you are female it could be a sign of pregnancy which although it usually occurs later on i suffered with it from 4 weeks and had to carry around gaviscon for the whole of my pregnancy.

When I was twenty five I suddenly became susceptible to indigestion from eating raw onion, which peeved me because I love raw onion! Isolate your foods for the next few weeks and you'll find the root of your problem!

Go to the Doc's is excellent advice! in the meantime I mix a half teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate, with a small amount of water. It tastes disgusting and isn't particularly good for you but it says goodbye to indigestion, but you MUST see your Doc.

Go and see your doctor . He will give you something to stop it and will rule out any other cause. I know it's annoying but your visit will be over in no time at all and you will be glad you went.
