The answer is really D none of the above.
My pop up blocker built into Mozilla Firefox doesn't get popups.
because I don't have spyware on my computer.
To remove the spyware that is actually causing the popups in the first place get one of these FREE programs
http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=pop.software
See if you go to cnn.com and get the one popup every one gets, get a pop-up stopper.
BUT If your just reading a site and they keep coming and coming... then you have spyware. If you remove it, your computer will run and start faster. and you just won't get popups anymore either.

pop up stoppers or more commonly known as pop up blockers can be downloaded from many sites
if you are running windows xp service pack 2 this has a pop up blocker built in ,just go to tools and check that the p.u.b(pop up blocker) has been activated
the yahoo toolbar(http://uk.toolbar.yahoo.com/)has a excellent p.u.b built in and i use this one as my main p.u.b
there are many other p.u.b,s and most of them come as part of a toolbar but be careful of which toolbar you download as some toolbars have some very nasty spyware as part of them(such as wintoolbar and slotchbar)
stick to the windows and yahoo toolbar ,they will do a excellent job
good luck

you should have one built-in to your browser. Or you might need to upgrade. Try Going to mozilla.com and try downloading Mozilla Foxfire. It's hands-down much better than internet explorer, and I hardly ever get popups.
