Ask a soldier that question, they want to finish the job and they want the negativism to stop from our media and our govt and so called americans.Whats amazing is visiting these soldiers that are at Walter Reid Medical Center and those who a severly wounded still want to go back and finish thier job.Try adopting a soldier or go to militaryfriends.com and ask that question as well.

I've been an outspoken opponent of this conflict since it's inception, I think it was poorly conceived, ill thought out, and has left us with no viable exit strategy. That said, I think we should stay and clean up the mess we made, we owe that to the dead, both ours and that of Iraq. We will, however, never do that by the methods in use, the function of the military if to destroy the enemies ability to wage war, and we are not even trying to do that. As things stand now, the Iraqis only have to do the same thing the North Vietnamese did, prolong the pain until the U.S. voters get sick of the body count and say frack it. That would render the pain and suffering on both sides a waste, and I would hate to see that happen a second time.

I think we need to agree on some time-line with the leaders of Iraq and step-up our training of their forces so we can "gradually with-draw. The longer we stay there, the more they will depend on our help. Why do you think it's getting worse? The radicals are trying everything in their power to put pressure on us and right now they're probably smiling; knowing we're running our president down in the ground, our tactics, our government, etc. This is exactly what they want. Hate to say this, people, but I have to agree with Bush---stay the course. My daughter's over there and I would love nothing better than to bring her home, but I'm proud of all our military and I know everyone is doing the best they can; regardless of all the set-backs; caused by all the evil surrounding that country. We need to concentrate on training their forces so we can eventually with-draw and give them control.

The war with Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism...it is all about the oil. Gearge Bush had no reason to even go into iraq. I thought we were after Osama who is from Afghanistan, not Iraq. So i believe all of our troops should come home.

there isn't a correct answer to that question. i like the politicians that are talking about exit strategies focusing on putting a date in place to start withdrawing troops given that the Iraqi's are ready to stand on there on two feet and be willing to adjust the date if they are not. That of course, does not answer the question at all.

It would be nice for everybody to just come home safe and everybody can be happy. But if that were the case there would never be war in the first place. There is still a job to be done.

I hate to say it but we should stay. See it through to liberate the mainly ungrateful from the sadistic dictator. They are ignorant to democracy and only know violence. They are doing a wonderful job of taking themselves out. Unfortunately they are taking some of us with them.
