PKD - not at all dear fellow. Here in Surrey the first of the July snows has arrived. The leaves have fallen from the trees and the streets are ringing with the sounds of children laughing and playing as they make slides on the pavements from the hard night frosts. I, myself have prepared for the imminent yuletide by writing annoying letters to all my friends giving detailed instructions regarding the presents I expect to receive. Furthermore I have restocked the barrels of tar on the battlements of the east wing ready to be heated and poured on carol singers and I have cut down all the mistletoe from the trees so nobody else can have any. Yes, my preparations are in full swing.

Can't kill it nicely, but ye can surely kill it by lopping off it's knobbly head, then plunge into boiling water and pluck, then cut its guts out (reserve giblets for gravy). Rinse well. Salt cavity. Roast at 350F 20 mins/lb.

If you haven't named it, yes. Best thing to do is hang it by it's legs, then slit it's throat. Great tip: pluck whilst still warm. Gets tricky when they're cold. Good luck!!
