Manchester's (UK) leading Imam has confirmed that he thinks the execution of sexually active gay men is justified, reports Outrage. Mr. Arshad Misbahi, who is based at the Manchester Central Mosque, confirmed his views in a conversation to Dr John Casson, a local psychotherapist.

Dr Casson said: "I asked him if the execution of gay Muslims in Iran and Iraq was an acceptable punishment in Sharia law, or the result of culture, not religion. He told me that in a true Islamic state, such punishments were part of Islam.

"I asked him what would be the British Muslim view? He repeated that in an Islamic state these punishments were justified. They might result in the deaths of thousands but if this deterred millions from having sex, and spreading disease, then it was worthwhile to protect the wider community."

“I checked again that this was not a matter of tradition, culture or local prejudice. ‘No,’ he said, ‘It is part of the central tenets of Islam: sex outside marriage is forbidden..."

And then people wonder why we in the U.S. are so adamant about ensuring separation of church and state. Amen.

Oh that's peachy. Now there's going to be a jihad in England on gays? Or people who have sex outside marriage? You know, I'm starting to wonder if priests, imams, etc, should not be given any press coverage at all. Statements like this one only serve to promote hysteria and terrorization of groups that disagree with their views. And people wonder why there are so many atheists in the world today...

NHBaritone,
I have been on this subject for some time. The Muslims are quite cavalier about this subject. The Legalistic approach to their religion shows that they have accepted some sort of idea that they, by not being Gay, are somehow 'clean' in God's eyes. Which is proposterous. But let us no expect too much out of that religion. It's antichrist message is taken by me as what it is; completely erroneous.

It's as if they are talking about someone who is already dead, when they refer to Gays. Like putting a dog out of it's misery.

I saw that you are a Buddhist. Well I am a Bisexual Christian. I guess we agree on the Muslims, though.

Actually, I would think all of Europe should be scared to death of having too many muslims, and ever coming under islamic law. I know it would scare me to death, and it wouldn't even be about the gay part, its the whole enchilada. Those two guys in Somalia who were unfortunate enough to be watching soccer when the islamic militia took power got murdered for watching soccer, so you wouldn't necessarily have to be gay or just have premarital sex to end up murdered, watching a soccer game could be enough.

And no, christians not only wouldn't murder gay people, we wouldn't murder sports fans, or people who had premarital sex. Those that say we would simply don't have a flamin clue what christianity is all about. It's about forgiveness, not capital punishment for minor offenses.

This man is NOT a Christian - anyone who takes God's judgment into their own hands will be held responsible on the Judgment.

The Bible speaks against Gays in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - it by no means says it is OK for anyone to bring judgment against them - Jesus will do that on Judgment.

Well you could repent and turn from the lifestyle or move away. There are a number of alternatives. It does sound pretty threatening. I would take action now before it gets really bad. The Muslims seem to be getting more militant by the day.

They should not be terrified. Instead, the police should be doing the job I pay my taxes for, like arresting and imprisoning bloody nutters instead of putting up more speed cameras.

Robert L - christianity hates gays as well, or haven't you read the bible recently?

If sex outside marriage is forbidden, then more than just gay folk should be terrified lol.

I don't think gay folks need worry, at least not those outside of Iraq or Iran

Move to America. This will not occur, ever! I am a Christian who does not agree with the life actions of the homosexual community.

This fanaticism is beyond the pale. All are God's children, each are of sin. We are all children of God.
