Pay the ticket on time. If you don't pay it on time you at least have to make your court date and may be able to set something up with them but if you don't pay it, they'll probably take your license. You should think about giving up on driving anyway. People who run red lights don't deserve to be behind the wheel (I got hit by someone who ran a red and nothing makes me more sick than people who think they're above the rules to the point that they ignore the rules or get spaced out and don't pay attention to them).

You can ask the judge for deferred adjudication. You will have to pay about double the ticket price but it will not go on your record if you don't get a ticket within so many days. You can also ask the Judge for a payment plan. Most will give you one.

Pay the ticket. Why go through the aggravation of going to court? You'll probably lose anyway.
