Not necessarily.

If it's hot, swollen and draining... Then, infection.

It is still an open wound... It will be red.

Clean it once in the morning, and once at night... otherwise don't touch it! You will irritate it and increase your chances of keloids (masses of scar tissue) and rejection. Make sure you wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before you touch it. Your clothing will do plenty of irritating it as well, so be careful.

If you had your piercing professionally done, they should have given you an aftercare sheet... Follow their instructions.

Good Luck!

No, it quite is not contaminated. do no longer use any ointments, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide. If anybody jointly with a piercer tells you to apply hydrogen peroxide run in the different direction! for sure they have not have been given any thought what they're talking approximately. depart the piercing on my own as much as achievable. I recommend doing heat sea salt soaks on it as quickly as in the morning and as quickly as at night, using h2ocean some circumstances an afternoon, alongside w/provon cleansing soap in the bathe. swimming pools are no longer sturdy to your piercing the two. Swimming is a sturdy thank you to get an infection. If it became contaminated it may be painful and pussing. If it turns into contaminated do no longer take the jewellery out, flow on your piercer and characteristic them take a glance at it.

It's not infected. It is iritated. You will know when it is infected because it will still be swollen, and puss will be coming out. It will also hurt more then the actual peircing did.

It may be, but it also may just be healing. A navel piercing takes a good long while to heal. Make sure you keep spraying bactine on it.

no, mine was like that for awhile but was not infected. Just keep washing it like they told you and make sure you turn it or it will get "stuck", and that hurts when it gets stuck.

Uhhh the naval is a sensitive area. I suggest putting rubbing alchohol mixed with coca cola on it twice a day.

I know from experience, it works. Coca cola can do anything.
