Seriously what do the people who are completely against the war that we are fighting in currently, want? We went into Afghanistan and Iraq to take out evil people who would kill us if they had the opportununity. So what are we going to do pull out of both Afghanistan and Iraq completely as if nothing ever happened and watch both countries fall into complete shambles and watch as they bot become overun by evil dictators and the countries end up being worse then before the war. We could all do that and take the Bill Clinton approach and do nothing because people wouldnt be dying in Iraq, but they would be dying over here. Face it people die in war its a horrible thing, but with the people we are dealing with we either attempt to finish them off and have some people die or we all sit back and watch the gretest country in the world falter and have attacks on our soil everyday and millions would die. You said it all. The Vietnam War was won on the ground and lost in the Halls of Congress. The same will happen in Iraq if we allow it. Problem is the Cindy Shehans get the publicity. When's the last time you saw a story about a Silver Star being awarded? It's a game - how many of us have to die to be equivalent to the number of them. These guys will be pushing on Europe next as they have a population toehold there.

we went into Afghanistan to get bin Laden, we haven't yet. we went into Iran to get weapons of mass destruction, still not found. Just because we invaded two terrorist nations will not stop the terrorists, if they want to strike they will find a way. there are plenty of Americans who will be willing to help them. Remember Oklahoma City and the Atlanta Olympics were done by Americans. As to the truth people die in war, why is it that all the pro war people are back in the stated complaining about the anti war people and not doing their duty dying and fighting for their freedom. Talk is cheap and yes I expect some right wing republican to report this and have me flagged again.

I don't think I could give a better answer than what you just did. It actually brought tears to my eyes! Thank you so much! Instead of people blaming "our" country and "our" president at a time like this, we should support what we're "trying" to do 100%! I don't hear anyone blaming the radicals who do all the murdering, torturing, kidnapping, bombing, etc., etc., etc. Maybe if we could get rid of those kinds of people we just might be able to accomplish something over there; but they don't give us a chance to. It's very fraustrating. I'm sure these murdering people are having a field day; knowing how so many are putting down our president and country. I stand by what we're "trying" to do and our military 100%. I got news for you; it will take a miracle to really turn that country around; I don't care who's president.

Amen..,they want to understand the people that use children to bomb the innocent,they want to sing cumbaya and hold hands and pray for peace and lay down their weapons so that it will make it easier for the terrorists to take over.Theres lots of arm chair idiots that think they can run this country and run the war and know whats best for the soldiers.Well they are not the soldiers they have not seen the things they have or accomplished what the soldiers have and these are cowards that are afraid to fight for our country..they would rather run to canada like Clinton did.

They want, in no particular order:

1 - a world at peace but they've no practical ideas as to how to achieve it,
2 - everyone to be equal even though the very idea is ridiculous,
3 - to outlaw wealth as it's commonly understood even though their leaders are themselves very wealthy,
4 - a social welfare system that they are unwilling to pay for and cannot anyway afford,
5 - a world without competing interests, peoples, or ideas because they've already got it all figured out, and

well, I could go on, but I think you've got the flavor of it.

I don't think Iraq and Afghanistan are lumped together. Almost everyone is for the war in Afghanistan because that is about justice to those who attacked us. The Iraq war is completely different.

And the situation you describe: "fall into complete shambles" and "end up being worse then before the war", that is what Iraq is like, with us there.
