I am doing some updates on my apartment and have no idea where I can buy not too expansive unfinished moldings (has to be in red oak)... I live in Alexandria, VA and can pick it up somewhere not too far away (MD is fine, too). Please help!

Best advice is to visit your local lumberyards where the builders get their materials. They are the businesses most likely to stock red oak mouldings. If they do not stock it, they can surely special order it for you. The big box home improvement retailers stock a very limited line of specialty mouldings and are unlikely to have what you need.

Good luck with your project.

Home Depot or Lowes would be the first place to check for new. Habitat For Humanity Re-Store is another place to check.

Check the Internet for a company named Paxton Lumber and if that doesn't work for you, email me.
