I travel quite a bit and belong to various hotel chain clubs (i.e. "Priority Club" with Intercontinental Hotels, "Marriott Rewards" and "Hilton Honors") and have found that Hilton Hotels are the most accomodating. Their rooms are always clean and those in charge are always willing to accomodate any request. The only time you may have problems (and this is with any hotel) is when the property is booked. Otherwise, late check-outs, room upgrades, etc. are always honored. Hiltons normally have nice pools and decent sized gyms as well with nice restaurants on the property. They are a little pricier than other chains but many times it is worth it.

I have stayed in a several Hiltons in the UK and in the US. They have all been clean, well presented and the staff have always been professional. No doubt, there is probably the odd HIlton in the UK that is particularly exceptional. However, my opinion is that within the UK they are generally located in an inconvenient location for holiday travel. The services you typically get and use are on par with those hotels you get in a better location at a lower room rate. The Hiltons in the UK can also seem a bit impersonal. However, the Hiltons in the UK are particularly suited to the business traveller and are geared as such. The Hiltons in the US, although like any major hotel chain, can seem a bit impersonal, are thought out a bit more. It still receives a significant proportion of its bookings from the business traveller. However, each hotel know its location and that the visitors will have different requirements from location to location. The hotels try to cater for the different requirements (for example, being able to get theatre tickets is perhaps more important to tourists in New York than in Dallas).

I have stayed many times at the Nile Hilton in Cairo and have always had a fabulous time. The rooms are wonderful especially if you get a cabana which is just a step away from the pool! I have always gone either at Xmas or March time as that is when the Hilton stage a week long tennis tournament which is brilliant.

I stayed in the Cardiff Hilton a couple of years ago and did an upgrade to an executive room, this turned out to be a rather good move as the room was right next to the presidential suite so it was massive, the upgrade also inculded dinner for 2 in their 5 Star restaurant and unlimited use of the executive lounge that overlooks Cardiff Castle which has beer/wine/spirits and you just help yourself to as much as you like, they also bring in hot snacks regularly. The cost of the room/dinner etc was £260 a night, a bargain if you ask me. The standards were ask you'd expect - rather excellent, i've never even seen a room that big before let alone stay in one.

I used to travel quite a bit on business. I must say that overall Hilton is my favorite hotel chain. The Embassy Suites (a Hilton name brand) in Palm Beach and Hilton Gaslamp in San Diego are two of my favorites. They also seem to always have the closest hotel to the airport. This is certainly true in Chicago and LA.

I've stayed the night at the Gatwick Hilton many times. It's a nice hotel with good restaurants, and it's only a few minutes walk from the terminal, but it's a little pricey.

I've stayed at several. Most were nice as far as amenities and cleanliness, but the service changed at each destination. Do NOT stay at the Hilton in Richmond, VA. The service is terrible and the rooms aren't clean - mold in the bathroom, stained beds, false charges on your bill.

I stayed in the Hilton in Sofia in April. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. It was quite reasonable too. The staff all spoke perfect English and were very courteous and helpful.

I stayed at the Hilton Hotel and Towers in Chicago?

We went to a conference dinner - it was really interesting there were about 2,500 seated guests at tables of 10. I had two tables and one of my guests was black.

Indeed he was the only black person seated in the whole room, but he wasn't the only black person in the room because almost all of the waiters were black. I thought that rather interesting.
