How does the prayer form of meditation apply to the Budist's way of worship?

it helps them look deep into themselves to achieve enlightenment. it sort of like praying but not to a higher power... you are basically searching your own soul for answers

First, I'm not a Buddhist. I have spent a lot of time with Buddhist and have studied thier beliefs. My understanding is that meditation is more or less a way to clear thier minds. When one meditates the end result should be complete absence of thought (or forgetting our desires). All of this ties in to the end result of no attachment. If we have no attachment, or overcome the self, we become that much closer to reaching our goal.

Technically there should be no worship in Buddhism. It is an Atheistic belief and anyone who is actually praying in the Buddhist religion is not supposed to and is following the Buddhist religion the wrong way, or at least the way that it was not intended to be followed.

Buddhists do not pray, we have no one to pray too. Meditation is a search for truth, involving the quieting of the mind, body and heart..
