Try this remedy, which works if you have oversalted a sauce, soup, or gravy, and might work with your chili: peel a raw potato and cut it into about 4 chunks, then add it to the cooking pot. The potato acts like a sponge for the salt problem - maybe it will work for the spice problem, too.

If this doesn't work....and you have time....you might want to consider whipping up a second small bacth of chili WITHOUT spices, and add it to the first batch. Even just browning some meat and adding some more tomatoes, onions, beans (whatever your chili ingrediants are) will spread the spices around and reduce their fire.

Definitely serve it up with some sour cream and tortilla chips, and you should be good to go.

Any kind of dairy product you can add to the chili will reduce it's spicyness.
As Wikipedia describes: "consuming foods high in fats and oils, such as milk or bread and butter, will help alleviate the burning. The lipophilic capsaicin is able to mix freely with the fats in the food and is removed from the surface of the mouth".

I am also lead to believe that protein molecules in milk dock onto the capsaicin molecules (the ones causing food to be spicy) and preventing it from reaching the heat sensors in our mouth.

Use sugar... Put a couple pinch of sugar in the chili dish that you've cooked... & the hot & spicy of the chili is reduced...

I like to have at least 15 beers on ice, I prefer imported german beer. Then, I put a lot of tabasco in my chili and drink a lot of beer, before long, I am CHILLIN!

Add some milk. I add milk to my sauce to kill the acid. Maybe adding it to chili will calm it down.
