1). Christ came and abolished Mosaic Law, which included the
Ten Commandments. Why honor them now?
2). How is it possible to commit adultery inyour heart if you are not
married? The bible/commandments tell us that when we look
upon a woman with lust we have committed adultery in our
hearts. But if we are single and looking for a mate, how else
are we to view a woman with procreation in mind?
3). In Revelations, the number of the beast is 666. This is the
number by which the Antichrist will be able to control mankind.
It is through this number that he will control all of us. Now,
we have this, which we see every day: WWW. The Hebrew
equivalent resembles the arabic numeral 7; 777, which means,
in Hebrew, 666. Food for thought, eh?

I put these ideas out here for general dicussion. I am a Christian, love Jesus, and understand the laws. Yes, I knew these before, but I like this forum. And the 777 is not the numeral seven, it is the hebrew letter that looks like a number 7.

Awesome answers! Keep them coming. To you...I am not wresting or making things up. When I select best answer I will cite a source for each point I made, which have been in the public eye for awhile now. No, I won't take offense, either.

Jesus did not abolish the law. He claimed He was the fulfillment of the law. He said until heaven and earth pass away, not one jot nor tittle of the law would be erased.

Lust is lust, whether you are married or not. You knew this already, I would guess.

The number 666 will be the mark of the antichrist, yes. Not sure what form this might take. The bible says at one point in time people will not be able to buy or sell without a mark in their hand or forehead; this could possibly be an implanted microchip.

If the 10 Commandments were abolished, please explain this scripture:

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Romans 3:31

The law is eternal. It is the law of love and a transcript of God's character. The ceremonial law, however is not eternal. It pointed forward to the cross. Once the real Lamb of God had come, it was done away with.

Why would adultery be wrong if you believe the law is abolished? You contradict yourself

Revelation says nothing about the antiChrist using the number 666 to control mankind. It says that 666 is his number. A completely different thing. Please don't wrest scripture to fit your designs

1) Biblically, Jesus did not abolish the Mosaic law, he fulfilled it. What is meant by that is, fulfillment of the messianic prophecies. The Mosaic law is still in place for the ancient nation of Israel (which of course, no longer exists). The Mosaic laws were not intended to be laws for all people for all times, they were simply the legal system of that ancient nation. Christians don't seem to get that.

2) Biblically, adultery involves only a married woman (it was not considered adultery for a married male to have sex with prostitues for example). You can lust to your hearts content at single women from a Biblical perspective.

3) 666 refers to Nero. Revelation is mostly a story about the past, not the future.

As for the '10 commandments being abolished as part of the Mosaic law; you are part correct. While they were abolished; the 'New Testament(will)' restated 9 of them (different grammar). The other one 'Keep the Sabbath' was also given to man back in Genesis1, and that authorization was not not abolished.

666 is symbolic for the fact man was created on the 6th day. Three 6's representing that man thinks he is a god.

yes that is interesting. Jesus did not abolish the laws he completed the sacrifice he paid the final sin offering. I do not know about the 666 but am sure it is not a birth mark as the films make out. I would be interested to know more about www being 666?

As for the Laws- they are not what save us- But they are a mirror, to show people they have sinned against God, so YES they are needed today! One cannot come to knowledge of sin, without first seeing they have broken God's Law. It is a schoolmaster....

About committing adultery- That is what God has said- and also to show that EVERYONE has done this- we all need a Saviour...so to say you have not committed adultery would be a lie. It's God's word. We all sin of course- just like lieing. So therefore we need a Savior- once again showing us our sin by using Gods Law- this is what really brings a person to their knees in repentence, by opening their eyes to God's standards- for which we are all judged by.

Romans 2:12
All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

But do not judge God's Law:

James 4:11
Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.

Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it.

If you think lust, you've committed it in the eyes of God.

Try finding a woman by looking at her heart and mind, that is more important than looks.

The anti-Christ will not 'control' us all, some will be deceived and follow him by their own free will. Christians will not be deceived.

Lots of questions...I will answer the first one and leave the rest for others. The laws all come down to two: Love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. So anything that violates either of these, ought still be avoided. It is written, "No one will be justified by following the law, rather through the law we become conscious of sin." It is still important to identify sin, for all sin leads us away form God...and so away from love. For God is love.
