Why is it that christians can protest in front of an abortion clinic? Don't you think that is not promoting peace? Why are they so against homosexuality? Regardless if you believe it is wrong, who are you to judge? Isn't love one of the biggest things Jesus asks from us? Please mature answers only.

I think that the things you are speaking of are not limited to what Christians do. I am a Christian. I know some judgemental Christians. I also know many judgemental people who do not subscribe to any particular religion. I think that people are generally flawed and have many issues and thought patterns that come from background, experience, etc. Therefore, no matter what religion, belief system, or lack there-of that people function under, they are still who they are, especially if they are not working to change this.

You are right that the most important comandments that Jesus pointed out were these: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength" and "love your neighbor as yourself". I think that sometimes people get caught up in getting others to see the importance and/or truth in what they believe for whatever the motivation, that they lose sight of what is really important... people. Don't let this stop you from searching for the truth about God.

Finally, I want to gently point out to you that by referring to Christians in general as being judgemental, you also seem to be judging. Like I said, it's a "people-thing", not a "Christian-thing."

HI Giggles,
Yes.. love IS the biggest thing that Christ taught us. However, we also know that he never waivered in his convictions to follow the commandments of the Father. He never accepted the sin, just the sinner.

I think that Christians are often given the bad wrap for being "judgemental" becuase they refuse to conform to the sin that continues to be flaunted in our nation. Sin has become political in our nation and it should not be.

Homosexuality is a sin WHEN it is acted upon . It is a temptation like any other temptation that others may have for alcohol, drugs, gambling, over eating...... with that temptation the Lord will also give you the strength to over come. He will not give you more than you can handle.

Homosexuality isnt' a sin until its acted upon. I dont disagree that that challenge is real, that those feelings and temptations are real. I"m certain they are as real as an alcoholic or any other temptation is. Mine happens to be food.

Abortion is a sin. There are Christans that feel strongly that they must do everything they can to appose it and it is out of compassion for the unborn spirit that is losing his chance to go to the family he was meant to go to. However, on that note.. the Lord gave us all free agency and if those women chose to do that then they will one day face not only the Lord but the child who was meant to come to them. I think that facing those two would be much worse than crossing thru a crowd to get to the abortion clinic doors. I would rather chose the latter than face the Lord and the child one day.

I don't think it's just Christians, those people who picket abortion clinics would also be doing something else about something else, and feeling superior about it whatever their "faith".
And about Jesus: if all Christians concentrated on what he preached,(it's easy) instead of all the teachings and preachings of others, what a better world that would help to make.

Christianity was hijacked long ago at the conferences at Nicea (320's AD)for secular political reasons, and it has left it's stain ever since.
Had the Christians won the debate then there'd be less room for all this superior attitude regarding morality.
It's worth finding out about, (if you aren't familiar), for instance it was what gave the church power, by inventing the concept of original sin, which only it could absolve, and citing a few bible refs to substanciate it, ignoring the contrary scriptures.
I know this isn't a very specific answer, in fact it's not an answer at all.I rambled-it's just those judgemental Christians get me riled. Real Christians I respect.

Being given the Bible we have a book that describes God and who He is and what he likes and dislikes. We see that God sees all life as precious, he knits everyone together in the womb and already knows what will happen to them. (Psalm 139) In the beginning, he created a man and a woman, not 2 men or 2 women, but two different sexes. It's not so much that we're in disagreement over homosexuality as it is we're trying to stand up for the right thing. A father and mother properly make up the parental units and there are verses in the New Testament in Ephesians about roles of a wife and husband. We have all these clear indications in the Bible of how life should be treated and families should be built, that we might in occasion have to protest what can be morally out of line. If we just sit back, it's as if we don't want to make a stand for God and our beliefs that come from Him. And Christians are loving; they transfer the love they have from the Spirit and impact the people around them. If they are not just saying they're a Christian and are truly a Christ follower, it will be obvious.

Hey I hate the protests, I feel the problem with abortion is there are so girls we as Christians should of had a chance to reach, and we didn't and sex, and pregnancy are a by product of that, Now I do hate abortion, it's murder, I'm glad my mother didn't abort me! but the problem needs to be faced at the home, not at the clinic, and Christians that hate homosexuals are just plain off, now homosexuality is 100% condemned in the Bible, but as true Christians we should hate the sin, and love the sinner, ask your self, have you ever looked at someone man or women ( doesn't matter which) with lust in your heart? yes, right, we all have, if not check your pulse, Jesus said that it's the same as committing adultly with that person, and in your sins God will judge you, unless you except his son into your heart, We all need a savior, and God provided his son, for you, And the verse that everyone tries to quote judge not unless you shall be judged, look it up, it's the most mis quotes scripture in the Bible, but I'll let you look it up, and come to your own conclusions..

God Bless
RS

I'm a Christian and have never protested in front of a clinic. There is no peace for the baby who will be cut up into pieces and sucked out or have scissors opened into his/her brain prior to delivery (educate yourself girl). And I don't judge homosexuals as people at all, just the act. Even animals know that the male appendage doesn't go in the exit hole.
If you saw your child stealing or beating someone up, would you judge them?

They are standing up for what they believe in. They have the right to protest things that they do not think are right/fair. If no one was allowed to protest or speak their beliefs, what kind of world would that be?
And let's just keep it real, everyone judges to a certain extent, even you with your question are judging them for standing up for what they believe in. Are there better ways to get things done than the way some do it? Yes, but not everyone has the same views, and that's what makes people diverse.

Jesus commanded us to judge righteous judgments. If no one made judgments a car would never sell, no one would be able to get through school. All judgments must come from a desire to help make things better. maybe show someone their need for Jesus in their life.. We are against sin because our Lord is against sin. Is taking the Law into our own hands right NO.. Most of the issues you talked are already under judgment according to God's word. If you don't like His judgments take that up with Him... Jim

When you love some one wouldn't you warn them when they are in danger no one is perfect but yes we should not Judge for what measure we judge so shall we be judged the bible speaks against these things you have mentioned so if someone speaks against them they can do this with love but when it come with condemnation its not out of love such as bombing abortion clinics two wrongs still don't make a right Yes when some one does us wrong we are to love them this is not a easy thing to do it is impossible without the love of God in our life's.

Wouldn't you protest if men began dismembering your children in a clinic? Sucking their brains out in front of you?
Homosexuality, the practice of it, is sin. It is a choice that goes against the revealed will of God. We show our love for the individuals who are caught up in this deception by pointing it out to them.
Jesus' love compels us. You want Peace or compromise? Your compromise degenerates society. Legislators will stand at the judgment to answer for their compromises with error.
