This person is correct. Here is the information on Left Hand Turn on to a One-Way Street and they states that it IS legal...

Left turn on red
In most areas of the United States, it is also legal to make some left turns on red. In all cases, the road being turned onto must be one-way. Making a left-turn on red from a two-way street is legal in only five states: Alaska, Idaho, Michigan, Oregon, and Washington. In 37 other states and Puerto Rico, it is legal to make a left turn on red only from a one-way street. Left turns on red are prohibited in the states of South Dakota (unless permitted by local ordinance), Connecticut, Maine, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Rhode Island and in the District of Columbia and Guam.

All turns on red (left or right) are prohibited in New York City unless a sign is posted permitting it.

I grew up and learned to drive in Colorado.
There, yes, IT IS LEGAL to make a left hand turn onto a one way street at a red light only if you are turning from a one way street (i.e. not crossing oncoming traffic).

Some states differ, I have been to many states but not paid any attention to this as it is not worth the gamble of a ticket.

It's legal to do so in Texas if both streets are One-Way

Many people dont realize that,though.

Most of the State's larger cities have a series of One-Way streets implemeted in their "downtown" areas to help control & releive traffic congestion.

Yet drivers sit and wait through Red Lights when wanting to turn Left on Red on those 1-way streets.

The State/Cities' Officials themselves seem to never have "caught on".
I occasionally see Police Cars wait,,and other emergency type vehicle also.
And I've NEVER seen a Blinking Red Arrow traffic light to indicate STOP>proceed with turn.

To my thinking,,after spending all the $$$ to create a 1-way street sytem ,,,New Lenses & a "blinker switch" would be cheap & easy,,,
and "Icing on the Cake" to more fully capture the benefits of One Way traffic.

Go Figure??

I know in MS we're only allowed to turn right on red if no traffic is coming. I want to say in Louisiana it's legal to make left turns on red if nobody's coming (obviously), but I'm not sure.
