First you say you've found one you want to adopt, and then you ask for adoption sites near you... (?!)

If you'd like to adopt a dog, you can go to any of these sites. Most of them let you search for dogs by your city name or zip code to find ones close to you:

petfinder.com
1-800-save-a-pet.com
pets911.com
nextdaypets.com

judging from what u have said about the dog it sounds like a mutt,(a dog which is mixed with different breeds). the best thing that u should do right now is bring it to the humane society to find out about it and then take it to the vet.. making sure that it don't have any type of disease is also very important....

You need to find a picture and resubmit a question. You are too vague for any of us to try to help you. Sociable is a personality trait NOT a breed trait.

adopting would be from a humane society so it's likely it was a mix. A pure bred dog that would fit your subscription would be something like a mini snauzer maybe?

Go to petfinder.com and when you type in the area and zip code, it will show you a list of shelters and rescues in your area. You can look on there and see if there are any of the dogs you are looking for.

visit http://www.petfinder.com and click on the different breeds for adoption.

Without a picture, it is difficult to say what it could have been.
