1st corinthians 13:8&9 isnt a good answer if you read before and after you will see it is talking about with love you are nothing and your tounges are nothing. It says they cease,if u dont have love you surely dont have the holy spirit speaking in tounges is the evidence of it in side you,so odviously if you dont have love tounges cease!

It doesn't. Every gift that God gave to His Church was intended to remain in His Church until the end of time.

I believe they are speaking of the verse in 1 Corinthians 13:8 The point of the verse means that partial revelation via these gifts were to cease when full revelation of God in scripture is completed. (At the end of the Apostolic age)
Personally, I'm not sure I believe this. I think that we do not see certain gifts performed (at least as much)because we don't believe.

[1 Cor 13:8] Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.

The passage above is referring to love's permanency throughout eternity while the other gifts will no longer be needed. Tongues will not cease before the end of time.

1 Corinthians 13:8. It will happen when that which is perfect has come (verse 10).

It's not there.

It just needs to be understood that it isn't a party trick, it's serious stuff and if it's being done in a context that doesn't glorify God than it didn't come from God.
